Abstract: In a spinning machine having a plurality of spinning units for producing packages used as feeding packages for twisting which have two prestrengthend yarn components, a combined quality value of two yarn components is monitored and, in the case of a quality defect, the spinning operation is interrupted, the time of the interruption of the spinning operation being coordinated with the time of the stopping of the partially wound spool in such a manner that a yarn end, which is connected with the stopped partially wound spool, is located at a given position.
Abstract: In an arrangement for interrupting the operation of an individual drafting frame at a spinning machine, devices are provided for reducing the contact of a sliver with the bottom rollers and particularly for lifting the sliver off the bottom rollers which are operative when the pressure rollers are lifted off the bottom rollers.
Abstract: In the case of a ring mounting for opening rollers of spinning machines having a ring-shaped basic body, out of the outer circumference of which a set of teeth is worked by means of notches extending essentially in axial direction and by means of grooves extending essentially in circumferential direction, it is provided that the grooves are deeper than the notches, the depth of the grooves amounting to 1.6 to 1.8 times the depth of the notches.
Abstract: An open-end rotor spinning apparatus is provided which includes a spinning rotor element for spinning yarn. A yarn receiving surface is included with the spinning rotor element and is arranged around a spinning rotor element substantially circumferentially transverse to the axis through the spinning rotor element. A housing is provided for housing the spinning rotor element, and the housing element is connected to a vacuum source. A fiber feeding duct feeds fibers to the spinning rotor element. The fiber feeding duct includes a mouth area leading into the spinning rotor element and adjacent feeding duct. The mouth is oval shaped and has a cross-sectional width in the circumferential direction of the yarn receiving surface which is greater than the cross-sectional width in the axial direction of the spinning rotor element.
Abstract: A method of manufacturing an opening roller assembly for an opening roller of an open-end spinning machine is provided. A hardened cylindrical sleeve made of a hardenable steel alloy has at least one circumferential groove formed in an outer cylindrical surface. After forming the at least one circumferential groove, the cylindrical sleeve includes a remaining wall section having a thickness no greater than 2.2 mm extending from the base of the cylindrical groove to an inner surface of the cylindrical sleeve. circumferential ribs are formed when the circumferential grooves are formed. The ribs have a base thickness of no greater than 0.7 mm. The sleeve wall radial thickness is about 0.06-0.72 times the height of the circumferential ribs. The circumferential groove base width is about 2.5 to 3.5 times the base thickness of the circumferential ribs.
Abstract: A process is provided for producing an open-end spinning rotor assembly. A boron treatment material is applied only to the fiber collecting groove area of the rotor of the spinning rotor assembly. Subsequently, a spinning enhancement material is applied over the boron treated fiber collecting groove and over a sliding wall area of the rotor. An assembly treated with boron treatment material and spinning enhancement material is also provided.
Abstract: A two-component yarn is created from a fiber component and a component consisting of a filament yarn, in which the fiber component is formed by a drawn sliver that is prestrengthened by means of pneumatic false-twist spinning and is twisted together with the filament yarn.

Abstract: In an arrangement for pneumatic false-twist spinning, an air nozzle, which follows the pair of delivery rollers of the drafting unit, can be moved out of its operating position after a yarn breakage. At the same time, a suction tube, which is assigned to this pair of delivery rollers, is brought into the area of the clamping gap of the pair of delivery rollers. In the normal operation, this suction tube is in a cleaning position, in which it is aimed at the circumference of a roller of the pair of delivery rollers.
Abstract: In an arrangement for open-end rotor spinning, it is provided that a fiber feeding duct, starting from its end located opposite a fiber sliding surface of a spinning rotor, is opened up by means of a lateral slot so that the cross-section that is essential for the taken-in air quantity is placed back in an area with a larger diameter, while, in addition, the end area of the fiber feeding duct is designed as a narrow groove.
Abstract: In the case of a mounting or ring fitting for an opening roller for open end spinning machines and the like, it is provided that the tooth tips are chamfered and form cutting edges which extend essentially in the travel direction of the teeth.
Abstract: A suction insert assembly is disclosed for a suction roller of an open spinning unit having a pair of rotatably driven friction rollers defining a yarn forming wedge-shaped gap or slot therebetween.To accommodate ease of manufacture and provide variable adjustment of the suction effect at the wedge slot, the suction insert assembly for at least one of the friction rollers includes a pipe fitted to the machine frame, and an intermediate piece filling out the space between the pipe and the perforated friction roller shell. The pipe is connected to a vacuum line and has a pipe slot communicating with an intermediate slot of the intermediate piece. The pipe rotatably supports the perforated shell by roller bearings located near the pipe ends.
Abstract: An open-end rotor spinning apparatus is provided which includes a spinning rotor element for forming yarn including an open side. A cover element is provided for covering the open side of the spinning rotor element. A projection element is disposed at the cover element and projects into the side of the spinning rotor element. A fiber feeding duct is disposed in the projection element. A yarn withdrawal duct is also disposed in the projection element and provides a pathway for formed yarn being withdrawn from the spinning rotor element. A yarn withdrawal nozzle element projects from the yarn withdrawal duct element into the spinning rotor element open side. Holding elements are provided other than the yarn withdrawal duct element which hold the yarn withdrawal nozzle element on the projection element.

Abstract: In the case of a process and an arrangement of producing spools containing two yarn components respectively and serving as feed spools for a twisting process, it is provided that the two yarn components that are each prestrengthened by means of false-twisting nozzles, are guided between a drafting frame and the spool on paths of different lengths, so that nonuniformities of the two yarn components that may have occurred during the drawing are not disposed directly next to one another.
Abstract: In the case of an air nozzle for pneumatic false-twist spinning having a yarn channel formed of at least two segments and having at least one compressed-air duct leading into the yarn channel, it is provided that for the formation of each compressed-air duct, a groove is worked into one of the segments that is open in the direction of the contact of the other segment and that is covered by the segment that follows. To accommodate selective changes in the compressed air duct configuration the segments are replaceable parts that are clamped by screw threaded nozzle housing parts.
Abstract: An opening assembly for an open-end spinning arrangement is provided which includes a steel alloy fitting ring element arranged on a rotatable roller body element for opening a silver into individual fibers. The fitting ring element includes a base wall having a radial thickness no greater than 2.2 mm, and includes a plurality of radially extended teeth unitary with the fitting ring element extending from the base wall. The teeth have lateral flanks formed by at least one cirumferential groove on an outer surface of the fitting ring element, and have front and back edges formed by at least two axially extending longitudinal grooves. The front and back edges have a radial height of about 0.75-0.80 times a radial height of the lateral flanks. The base wall radial thickness has a dimension of about 0.60-0.72 times the radial height of the lateral flanks. The height of the teeth is greater than the distance between the lateral flanks of axially adjacent teeth. The teeth are inclined toward a rotational direction.

Abstract: An open-end friction spinning machine is provided having a plurality of spinning units arranged next to one another. A suction device assigned to each spinning unit which acts in the area of the yarn formation zone may be selectively switched off such as in the case of a yarn breakage. So that the air throughput balance does not change in the area of the other spinning units when the suction device of a single unit is switched off, devices are provided for maintaining the air throughput relatively constant. Air throughput normally used by the suction devices in the yarn forming area of the spinning unit is diverted, for cleaning and maintenance purposes.
Abstract: An opening roller apparatus is provided for an open-end spinning arrangement of the type having a shaft supporting an opening roller base body. The opening roller apparatus includes an exchangeable fitting ring device which fits over the opening roller base body. An attaching device is provided for holding the exchangeable fitting ring on the opening roller base body. The attaching device operates free of the opening roller base body. A process for carrying out the exchanging or replacing of the fitting ring device is also provided.
