Abstract: A polyurethane is produced by reacting at least components A and B, where a) a polyisocyanate or mixture of polyisocyanates is used as component A and b) a polyol or mixture of polymer is used as component B. Component B contains at least one polyether having a number average molecular weight of at least 4000 and a polydispersity of less than 1.5 and/or an OH functionality of between about 1.8 and about 2. Preparations containing such polyurethanes are useful as adhesives, coatings and sealants.

Abstract: Condensation products prepared from cyclic carboxylic anhydrides of dicarboxylic acids, tricarboxylic anhydrides or tetracarboxylic anhydrides and difunctional polyamines, in particular polyoxyalkyleneamines, are suitable as a builder component for epoxy resin compositions. Abstract: The present invention relates to a sprayable hotmelt adhesive composition, a process for preparing the same, and a method of using the same. The hot melt adhesive composition contains 30 weight percent to 70 percent of one or more poly-?-olefins; 5 weight percent to 30 weight percent of at least one oil; and 20 weight percent to 60 weight percent of at least one hydrocarbon resin having a softening range of 70° C. to 140° C. The poly-?-olefin or the mixture of poly-?-olefins has a softening point of 70° C. to 30° C. and a melt viscosity at 190° C. of 1,000 mPas to 20,000 mPas. The hotmelt adhesive has a viscosity at 150° C. of 500 mPas to 4,000 mPas.

The epoxy system contains in weight percent about 30% to about 70% epoxy resin and contains a filler in the form of hollow glass microspheres. The epoxy system is in the form of a high-viscosity dough so that in its uncured state it does not significantly flow from and remain supported by the carrier portion of the insert whereby the insert may be placed near the wall before the epoxy dough is cured to bond the dough to the wall when the dough is cured and expands into intimate contact with the wall.
Abstract: A chromium- and nitrogen-free brightening and passivating treatment for metal surfaces, particularly iron and steel, comprises: at least one acid; at least one substance containing a peroxy moiety; and at least one organic substance selected from the group consisting of; molecules that contain both at least one ether moiety and at least one hydroxyl moiety; molecules that contain at least two ether moieties; and molecules that contain in each molecule both at least one ether moiety and one nitrogen atom that is covalently bonded to at least three carbon atoms. Preferably part of the acid contains phosphorus, which has been found to act synergistically with the organic substance to stabilize peroxy compounds against decomposition, particularly in the presence of metal ions.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method of producing soluble polymer granules which are suitable for use in washing and/or cleaning surfactants.
