    Abstract: A centrifugal fan with a noise suppressing arrangement includes a fan, a motor for rotating the fan and a scroll casing for accommodating the fan, the scroll casing is formed of a first scroll casing member covering the fan and a second scroll casing member forming the bottom part of the scroll casing, the second scroll casing member being provided with at the center thereof a cylindrical housing for holding the electric motor, and further includes a porous sound absorbing member having elasticity sandwiched and secured between the first scroll casing member and the second scroll casing member whereby the combination of the porous sound absorbing member and an air layer formed between the porous sound absorbing member and the inner bottom wall of the second scroll casing member suppresses noises caused by rotation of the fan.

More specifically, there is provided a device for exerting a pressing force to lightly press the valve shaft against the inner walls of bearings. The housing also has an auxiliary air passage for a portion of the intake air and the housing supports a circuit board containing a hot wire and a temperature sensitive resistor, the hot wire being adapted to measure the air flow rate in the auxiliary passage. In a feature of the invention the housing has a metallic wall which is exposed to air flow in the main passage so that improved temperature reliability of the device may be achieved.

An atmospheric gas reservoir disposed in the housing between the support member and the wall of the housing around the opening, and a communication passage bypasses the sliding portion and communicates the atmospheric gas reservoir with an external atmospheric gas through a space at an opposite side of the support member to the atmospheric gas reservoir side. The sliding member is dimensioned such that a gap between the opening and the sliding member inserted in the opening is small.

    Abstract: A method of controlling the operation of an internal combustion engine is performed by the steps of detecting operational conditions of the engine, and determining the required amount of fuel to be fed to each of the cylinders based upon the number of engine revolutions and the amount of intake air received before the fuel injection valve is opened. The method detects the actual amount of intake air in the suction stroke of a cylinder of concern after the fuel injection valve is opened and the ignition timing is controlled in dependence upon the actual amount of intake air. An electronic control apparatus for performing said method is also disclosed.

    Abstract: A fuel injection system comprises a fuel injection valve of the fuel swirling type which is provided in an intake passage upstream of an intake valve that is arranged in an inlet port, the fuel injection valve being equipped with an adapting device for adapting the form of the fuel spray, which is injected through the fuel injection valve in a swirling manner, to the configuration of the inlet port as seen from the position where the fuel injection valve is mounted. With this structure, the fuel can be prevented from impinging on the upper and lower walls of the inlet port, thereby preventing the fuel injected into the combustion chamber forming a liquid film. This helps to enhance the combustion efficiency of the associated internal combustion engine and to reduce the HC content in the exhaust gas, thereby improving the starting performance at low temperature of the engine.

    Abstract: Lower coils (5b) and upper coils (5a) are inserted to slots (12) of a cylindrical armature core (4). The upper coils are used as crossover lines (102a) at the side of commutator (10) and form commutator segments. The crossover lines are approximately deviated by a pole pitch (yf) at the commutator and inserted to other slots as lower coils. The lower coils are used again as crossover lines and deviated approximately by the pole pitch at the opposite side of the commutator so as to be inserted again to the slots as the lower coils. An insulating resin (11) are forced to push into inner peripheral sides of the armature core, and the crossover lines forming a squirrel cage type shape and extending cylindrically from the core.

A guiding pin for positioning is inserted concentrically through the inner component and a tip end portion of the guiding pin engages with the bottom portion of the outer component. An outer peripheral portion of the positioned inner component is locally and vertically pressure-pressed. A portion of the inner component is extended in an outer diameter direction according to the pressure-pressing plastic deformation. The extended member of the inner component is joined together with the inner diameter portion of the outer component. The extended member of the inner component and the outer component are mutually combined together. After the pressing operation the guiding pin is withdrawn.

The adapter can be formed by preparing a blank having an axial fuel passage and then conducting a plastic work by a punch press on an end face of the blank so as to restrict the outlet end of the fuel passage.

A transverse fuel passage (8) is also provided and the transverse fuel passage extends transversely to the axial passage and communicates with the axial fuel passage at a location offset to a diameter of the valve seat for producing a swirling fuel flow from the port (5). A combination of swirling and non-swirling fuel flow is thus supplied by the port (5), for producing finer fuel droplets of improved distribution.
