  • Patent number: 4669504
Abstract: A hydraulic control solenoid valve comprising a plunger provided in a coil case and a shaft freely shiftable in a body. The shaft is provided with a first spool valve and a second spool valve. A feedback chamber is provided in the body and on the side of the first spool valve. A round shaped thin plate is fixed to the end of the first spool valve and positioned in the feedback chamber so as to form a constricted part of a flow passage formed between an interior wall of the feedback chamber and a peripheral surface of the thin plate. The cross-sectional area (S.sub.2) of the constricted part is not greater than 0.04 of the side surface area (S.sub.1) of the thin plate. The thin plate adds the damping coefficient (C.sub.d) and also functions as the stabilization of the behavior of the spool valves. The thin plate facilitates the prevention of the resonance phenomenon of the spool valves.

  • Patent number: 4664481
Abstract: A reflecting plate is disposed in such a manner as to surround a fluorescent tube in a U shape in its axial direction. A light diffusion-transmission plate is disposed in such a manner as to bridge over the open end portions of the U-shaped reflecting plate and to extend in the axial direction of the fluorescent tube. A liquid crystal display element is disposed on this light diffusion-transmission plate. In the liquid crystal display device having the construction described above, the present invention disposes shading means for increasing the quantity of light near the filament portions and limiting the quantity of light on the light emission surface inside the fluorescent tube.

  • Patent number: 4625919
Abstract: In an electromagnetic fuel injection valve of the axial flow type, a tubular member with both its ends open is disposed in a penetration path that is formed in a stationary core, and an area is sealed between the outer periphery of the tubular member on the side of nozzle and the inner periphery of the penetration path. Further, the path formed between the tubular member and the penetration path is communicated with fuel space formed around the outer periphery of the stationary core. Therefore, the fuel circulates when it is allowed to flow out or flow in via the inner path of the tubular member.

  • Patent number: 4619595
Abstract: A capacity control device for a compressor used with an air conditioning system for an automotive vehicle and driven by an engine of the automotive vehicle, including flow resistance portions provided in a refrigerant inlet passage and capable of reducing the flow rate of a refrigerant flowing into working chambers of the compressor as the rotational speed of the compressor (or the engine speed) rises, to thereby reduce the volumetric efficiency of the compressor in a high engine speed range.

  • Patent number: 4618811
Abstract: A voltage regulator for a charging generator is disclosed which comprises an a.c. generator having armature windings and a field winding, and a battery which receives the rectified output of the a.c. generator and is charged by the same. The voltage regulator regulates the output voltage of the a.c. generator by controlling the current flowing through the field winding. To prevent the output voltage of the a.c. generator from becoming a high voltage when a connecting wire connecting the rectified output of the a.c. generator to the battery is broken, the regulator also includes an abnormality detection means which compares the rectified output of the a.c. generator with the battery voltage and detects the abnormality when both voltages are different by more than a predetermined value. This arrangement makes it possible to detect the abnormality at the point of time where the output voltage of the a.c. generator is not yet very high.

  • Patent number: 4552114
Abstract: To improve the operating efficiency of a diesel engine, a plurality of engine operating parameters are detected and the engine cylinders to which the fuel supply is to be cut off are computed in accordance with the operating parameters, thereby stopping the generation of fuel control pulses in response to crank angle sensor output pulses indicative of the computed cylinders. A fuel injection pump is so constructed that the fuel is metered in response to the fuel control pulses and the metered fuel is pressurized, compressed and distributed to the cylinders, and the distribution of the pressurized and compressed fuel to the cylinders is stopped by stopping the application of the fuel control pulses.

  • Patent number: 4520962
Abstract: A fuel inlet opens at one end between a valve seat and an inner surface of a valve housing on which a globe valve slides. The other end of the fuel inlet opens to an external surface of the valve housing. The fuel inlet runs almost in the direction of a central axis of the globe valve so as to prevent the formation of vortex flow around the globe valve. A spiral member is pressure fitted inside the valve housing immediately downstream of the valve seat with the spiral member being formed as a rod with a spiral fuel groove to swirl the fuel along the groove. An outlet orifice for fuel metering is formed immediately downstream of and as near as possible to the spiral member.

  • Patent number: 4480618
Abstract: An apparatus for enriching an air-fuel mixture supplied by a carburetor upon starting operation of an internal combustion engine comprises a fuel quantity increasing passage which is operative independent of main fuel supply system. The passage has an inlet communicated to a fuel supply source and an outlet opened at a location downstream of a throttle valve. The amount of fuel ejected from the outlet of the passage is controlled by a control signal which represents a product of a value variable in dependence on a suction vacuum, the rotational frequency of the engine and a value variable in dependence on the temperature of engine cooling water.

  • Patent number: 4401076
Abstract: A method and a system are disclosed for controlling the amount and advance of fuel injection of a diesel engine using an injection pump of the type which defines the fuel supply period and the compression period, alternately, in synchronism with explosion-exhaustion and intake-compression strokes of each cylinder of the engine, and includes first and second pressure chambers to be supplied with fuel through first and second electromagnetic valves, respectively, during the fuel supply period, and the fuel in the amount equivalent to the fuel amount supplied to said second pressure chamber being injected into the cylinder at an injection timing determined from the total amount of the fuel supplied to said first and second pressure chambers. The open time intervals of the first and second electromagnetic valves are determined from the fuel amount to be injected into each cylinder and the injection timing advance which are determined in accordance with the engine operating conditions.
