    Abstract: A liquid crystal display device used in miniaturized portable equipment includes a distribution circuit to cope with a high-definition multi-grayscale display. A distribution circuit distributes an output of a drive circuit to a plurality of video signal lines within one scanning period, the distribution circuit being divided into a plurality of distribution circuits, and control signals being supplied to each distribution circuit from both end portions of each distribution circuit. When an output part of the drive circuit is configured such that a high withstand-voltage output amplifier and a low withstand-voltage output amplifier are alternately connected with the distribution circuit, a master function and a slave function are imparted to the drive circuit so as to allow the drive circuit to cope with odd-numbered outputs.

    Abstract: To prevent, in a backlight where light emitting diodes are arranged on a side surface of a light guide plate, light leakage from a reflection sheet and reduce non-uniformity of emission light from the backlight. In a liquid crystal display device that includes a backlight that irradiates a liquid crystal panel with light, LEDs are disposed as light emitting elements on a light guide plate that is disposed in the backlight, a reflection sheet that comprises a multilayer film is disposed on a bottom surface of the light guide plate, projections are disposed by sandblasting on the bottom surface of the light guide plate in the vicinity of the LEDs, and tight adhesion between the reflection sheet and the light guide plate is prevented. In the vicinity of the LEDs, in order to counter light non-uniformity, reflecting grooves are not disposed and it is a mirror surface, but tight adhesion can be prevented by disposing the projections.

The data driver includes: an internal control signal generation circuit generating an internal control signal for setting a timing to output a data signal to a drain line of each block on a block basis by dividing the plurality of drain lines into multiple blocks; and a register circuit for recording a setting for division of the block, a setting for delay direction and width of a timing to output the data signal, and a setting for rising and falling of an internal control signal.

To overcome such drawbacks, a liquid crystal display device is configured such that an optical pattern portion is compressed, and the light guide plate is removed by making use of a peripheral portion of a mold thus preventing the generation of stress in a local area of the light guide plate due to an ejector pin.

    Abstract: In a display mode, a signal driving circuit (DAC) transmits image signals to the pixels selected by a scanning circuit for display and first switches of switch units. Then, a power supply circuit supplies a current corresponding to the transmitted signal to the pixels. Then, organic EL elements provided in the pixels are driven to emit light, thereby displaying an image. In order to correct the deterioration of the organic EL elements, first, a constant current flows from a current source to the organic EL elements of the pixels selected by a scanning circuit for detection and second switches and a voltage corresponding to the constant current applied to the organic EL element is detected. The detected voltage is input to an AD converter through a buffer amplifier, and the AD converter converts the voltage into a digital value, and transmits the digital value to a signal correction control unit. When the organic EL element deteriorates, the detected digital value varies.

    Abstract: In a liquid crystal display device small in the size and having a narrow frame, an alignment film can be coated by ink jet printing, by coating a rapidly drying peripheral alignment film 109 in the shape of a frame to a TFT substrate 100 having a display region having pixel electrode 107 and a peripheral region thereof by ink jet printing, and then coating a display region alignment film 108 drying slower but excellent in the leveling effect by ink jet printing. While the display region alignment film 108 dries slowly, since the peripheral alignment film 109 formed to the periphery functions as a stopper, the shape of the alignment film can be defined accurately, thereby enabling to prevent lowering of the adhesion of the seal member 20 under the effect of the alignment film. This can be applied also on the side of the counter substrate 200.

Since the front plate is provided at the outermost surface of an image display portion, and the transparent organic medium is filled between the front plate and the liquid crystal module, it is possible to achieve an improvement in wear resistance and a reduction in reflectance.
