Abstract: The invention prevents reduction of a pickup rate even when a storage tape in use and a new storage tape are connected to each other with a connection tape. A component recognition camera takes an image of an electronic component held by a suction nozzle, and a recognition processing device performs recognition processing. When a positional shifting amount calculated by CPU based on the recognition processing result is more than ?, a board recognition camera takes an image of a storage portion of a storage tape storing a next electronic component to be picked up. When a positional shifting amount of the storage portion calculated based on the recognition processing result is more than ?, the CPU enables seam passage processing. Based on the image taking of the storage portion by the board recognition camera and the recognition processing by the recognition processing device which are performed each time the storage tape is fed N times, the CPU controls correction of a pickup position.

  • Patent number: 7376486
Abstract: This invention provides a board positioning method where a stopper and so on are not required when positioning a printed board in an X direction. Servo motors of a board supplying conveyer portion and a board positioning portion are driven to start carrying of a board. When a first board detection sensor detects the board before timeout of a first timer which starts timekeeping together with the carrying of the board, second and third timers start timekeeping. The servo motor starts decelerating, decelerates to an arbitrary speed, and keeps a constant speed after timeout of the second timer. When a second board detection sensor detects the board before timeout of the third timer, the servo motor is controlled to decelerate and stop the board at an arbitrary position, and a board recognition camera takes an image of a positioning mark of the board stopping at the board positioning portion to recognize a position of the printed board.

  • Patent number: 7367117
Abstract: The invention prevents mismounting of an electronic component caused by missetting of a component feeding unit in an apparatus. A recognition process of an electronic component is performed according to component library data stored in a RAM. According to “normal” data as a check condition in the component library data, a recognition processing device checks whether leads indicated by group numbers “1” and “2” exist or not in the electronic component, on command of a CPU. When all the leads are detected, the CPU commands the recognition processing device to calculate an amount of shifting from a proper position based on an image taken by a component recognition camera, and a position and an angle of the electronic component are calculated. Next, the recognition processing device performs an absence check of leads which must not exist in the electronic component.

  • Patent number: 7246429
Abstract: The invention is directed to performing of an effective checking and aligning operation of component pick-up positions at component feeding units used for manufacturing by performing the operation sequentially at a time. A board recognition camera takes an image of a feeding position of a component feeding unit and the image is displayed being superimposed over a graphic image of a suction nozzle on a CRT. When an operator operates a trackball to move a cursor to an “execute visual alignment” menu and clicks a left button there, the stored image (memory image) becomes movable freely in any direction according to a trackball operation. The stored image (memory image) is moved to match a cross line and an outline of a graphic suction nozzle (component pick-up position) for visual alignment with a component feeding position. Then, the operator clicks both right and left buttons of the trackball to store an alignment value of the position in a RAM.

Abstract: The invention is directed to an unfailing pickup operation of an electronic component from a component storage portion at a seam of storage tapes connected even using a connection tape and prevention of reduction in a pickup rate of an electronic component. A CPU sends a feeding command to a component feeding unit to perform a component feeding operation or the like. Then, when the CPU judges that a connection tape reaches a pickup position, the CPU drives an X axis drive motor and a Y axis drive motor to move a board recognition camera to the pickup position of the feeding unit, the camera takes an image of a storage portion of a storage tape, and a recognition processing device performs recognition processing. A correction value based on a result of this recognition processing is stored in a RAM, and a suction nozzle is moved taking this correction value into account and lowers to pick up an electronic component.

  • Patent number: 7219823
Abstract: This invention provides a low-cost electronic component feeding device which stabilizes a pickup position of an electronic component and does not require a highly accurate sprocket. A component feeding unit is fixed to an adjusting jig, a recognition camera moves to a component pickup position and takes an image of each of feeding teeth formed around a sprocket, and a recognition processing portion performs recognition processing and calculates a position of each of the feeding teeth. In this case, for each of the numbers corresponding to the feeding teeth checked through a checking window, positional data of each of the feeding teeth which are a recognition processing result of the recognition processing portion are stored in a memory by using an input device. After such an adjusting operation of the component feeding units is completed, the component feeding units each mounted with a storage tape are fixed to the electronic component mounting apparatus.
