  • Patent number: 4660920
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a connector for connecting at least two printed circuit boards without forming a soldered connection to any of the boards. The connector includes a housing having a front face and a rear face, each face being formed with an elongated aperture for receiving therein one edge of a corresponding printed circuit board. A plurality of contact guide channels are formed in the housing extending in parallel spaced relation between the front and rear faces and opening in both faces on opposite sides of the elongated board receiving apertures. Each contact has curved, circuit engaging fingers adjacent to the opposite ends thereof. Each channel is in communication with the elongated apertures to allow the contact's fingers to extend into the apertures thus making electrical contact with circuitry on the printed circuit boards. Each contact may be assembled into a corresponding channel from one housing face in a manner to result in a proper preloading of the contact.

  • Patent number: 4568133
Abstract: Female contacts are fixedly held in insertion channels formed in a body of a connector socket. A conductive plate is disposed on a front face of the body in contact therewith. In the conductive plate are formed small holes of a diameter slightly greater than that of conductive pins of a plug, in opposing relation to the insertion holes. The conductive plate has an integral grounding terminal. The arrangement is such that, when the plug pins are inserted into the holes of the conductive plate, as the plug pins are being inserted into the female contacts of the socket, any electrostatic charge on the pins is discharged to ground via the conductive plate and grounding terminal rather than being discharged from the pins to the socket contacts.

  • Patent number: 4548455
Abstract: Locking springs project from a plug body, and support bars are axially movably held against the locking springs. The support bars axially engage a coupling sleeve through engagement members. With the support bars in engagement with the coupling sleeve, the support bars are urged to move in a forward direction under the bias of a coil spring. When a plug is to be coupled to a socket, the support bars are caught by a front surface of a socket body, allowing the locking springs to be inserted into an insertion slot in the socket body. When protrusions on the locking springs are inserted in recesses in the insertion slot, the support bars are urged by the coil spring to be inserted into the insertion slot, and the protrusions axially engage in the recesses, whereupon the plug and the socket are locked together. When the coupling sleeve is pulled back against the bias of the coil spring, the support bars are withdrawn out of the insertion slot to allow the plug to be pulled out of the socket.

  • Patent number: 4543459
Abstract: A small-sized switch has a casing in which a movable contact member engages a first terminal and extends toward a second terminal having a fixed contact. The movable contact member includes an integral arcuate leaf spring extending from the end adjacent to the second contact toward the first contact, the movable contact member having a movable contact. An actuator is mounted on the casing for movement into and out of the casing. The switch also has a rocker pivotably disposed in the casing and held in engagement with the actuator. The leaf spring has a free end engaging the rocker. When the actuator is moved into or out of the casing, the rocker is turned thereby to cause the portion thereof engaging the leaf spring to traverse a line passing through the portion of the movable contact member engaging the first terminal and the movable contact, whereupon the movable contact on the movable contact member is snapped into or out of contact with the fixed contact on the second terminal.
