Abstract: A securement member for connecting strands includes a main body. A first aperture, a second aperture, and a third aperture extend through the main body. A fastener is coupled to the main body and is positioned adjacent to the first aperture. A strap is selectively received within the first aperture, the second aperture, and the third aperture in order to secure the strands to the main body. The fastener engages the strap to secure the strap relative to the main body.

Abstract: An electrical device enclosure is provided that includes an electrical device; a telescoping support member having the electrical device supported thereon; an electrical device region, the telescoping support member being configured to move the electrical device into a stored position in a first space defined in the electrical device region and to move the electrical device into a deployed position outside of the first space; and a hood pivotally connected to the electrical device for movement between a hooded position and an unhooded position. The hood and electrical device region have cooperating surfaces, the cooperating surfaces being configured and positioned so that movement of the electrical device to the stored position moves the hood into sealed contact with the electrical device to define a weather-tight space around the electrical device.

Abstract: A mounting bracket for a cord reel assembly is provided. The bracket includes a base plate and a pair of side rails. The base plate has one or more mounting openings. The pair of side rails define a keyway between each of the side rails and the base plate. An assembly of a cord reel and the mounting bracket are also provided, as is a method of a method of installing a cord reel using the mounting bracket. In some embodiments, at least one rail of the pair of side rails includes a tongue extending therefrom. The tongue is configured for securement of a supply device thereto.

Abstract: A tap plug for engaging a conductor lug and a stud is provided. The tap plug includes a housing, a first member, and a second member. The housing has an inner bore defining a longitudinal axis. The first member is in the inner bore and is rotatable with respect to the housing about the longitudinal axis. The first member has an external thread at a first end, where the external thread engages the conductor lug. The second member is rotatable with respect to the housing about the longitudinal axis and has an internal thread at the first end. The first end is open so that the internal thread can engage the stud.

Abstract: A wildlife guard assembly is provided that includes two cover sections, a biasing member, and a toggle action lever mechanism. The cover sections are hinged so that the cover sections, when in a closed position, a cavity to capture a line post insulator is defined. The biasing member normally biases the cover sections to the closed position. The lever mechanism is connected to the cover sections and has an over-center position that releasably holds the two cover sections in an open position. The lever mechanism is positioned in the cavity such that, during installation on the line post insulator, the line post insulator interacts with the lever mechanism to move the lever mechanism from the over-center position to allow the biasing member and the lever mechanism to move the cover sections to the closed position.

Abstract: Various embodiments described herein are directed to luminaire components that prevent flame transmission from the inside of a luminaire to the outside of a luminaire. In certain aspects, the luminaire can be used in an environment containing flammable gas, for example, in specialized lab work or testing applications. This application discusses components that can be used to prevent flame transmission from the inside of a luminaire to the outside of a luminaire, thereby yielding a flame encapsulating luminaire. Accordingly, the components and assemblies described herein can be safely integrated with systems that operate in the presence of flammable gas.

Abstract: A fan controller for a ceiling fan is provided. The fan controller includes one or more switching devices configured to selectively couple the ceiling fan to a power source. The fan controller further includes a power meter circuit and one or more control devices. The one or more control devices are configured to obtain, via the power meter circuit, data indicative of power consumption of a fan motor of the ceiling. The one or more control devices are configured to determine the fan motor is configured in a first mode of a plurality of modes for the fan motor based, at least in part, on the data indicative of power consumption. The one or more control devices are configured to provide a notification to manipulate an input device on the ceiling fan to switch the fan motor from the first mode to a second mode of the plurality of modes.

Abstract: An electrical conduit body assembly is provided. The assembly includes a body portion, a cover, and a movable connection. The movable connection connects the body portion and the cover to one another so that the cover can be moved with respect to the body portion between an open state and a closed state in a manner that prevents the cover from being misplaced or disassociated from the body portion.

Abstract: A switch including a first electrical terminal, the first electrical terminal including a blade pivotable between an open position and a closed position, and a rod extending from the first electrical terminal parallel to the blade. The switch further includes a second electrical terminal configured to receive the blade when in the closed position, the second electrical terminal including a vacuum interrupter, wherein the vacuum interrupter engages the rod when in the closed position. Rotating the first electrical terminal in a first direction causes the blade to disengage from the second electrical terminal at a first point, and further rotating the first electrical terminal in the first direction causes the rod to disengage from the vacuum interrupter at a second point.

Abstract: A leakage current meter can be mounted on a power company bucket-truck with the capability to detect an excessive amount of leakage current and send an alarm signal through harsh or extreme levels of EMI to a remote unit up in the bucket, causing an audible alarm in the bucket.

Abstract: An in-use cover for an electrical device includes a base having an internal volume and a lid pivotably connected to the base. The base includes an upper cavity, and an extension ring coupled to the upper cavity. The upper cavity and the extension ring are integrally formed from a unitary piece. The lid is movable between an open position that at least partially exposes the electrical device and a closed position that can enclose the electrical device in the internal volume.

Abstract: Systems for disconnecting a surge arrester. One embodiment provides a surge arrester comprising a housing, a connecting interface configured to connect to an electrical power grid, and a disconnector device coupled to the connecting interface. A metal oxide varistor stack is coupled to the disconnector device, and a ground side connection is coupled to the metal oxide varistor stack, the ground side connection configured to connect to a system ground. The disconnector device is configured to disconnect the connecting interface from the system ground based on a predetermined disconnection condition.

Abstract: A tap connector for piercing an insulation of a conductor is provided. The tap connector includes a first jaw, a second jaw, a hinged connection, a compression connection, and a piercing insert. The hinged connection connects an end of the first and second jaws to one another. The compression connection removably connects an opposite end of the first and second jaws to one another. The piercing insert depends from the first jaw in an electrically conductive manner between the end and the opposite end. The piercing insert and the first jaw are made of or at least coated with an electrically conductive material.

Abstract: One embodiment provides a non-contact power transmitter device including a sealed housing provided at least partially within a surface, and a transmitter coil within the sealed housing configured to inductively transfer power to a power receiver device. The power transmitter device also includes a transmitter control unit coupled to the transmitter coil, a transceiver configured to communicate with the power receiver device, and an electronic processor coupled to the transmitter control unit and the transceiver. The electronic processor is configured to establish, using the transceiver, communication with the power receiver device, and negotiate power transfer requirements between the power transmitter device and the power receiver device. The electronic processor is also configured to control the transmitter control unit to transfer power to the power receiver device.
