  • Patent number: 4821993
Abstract: A retaining bracket for detachably connecting a pump to the power take off shaft of a tractor. The bracket provides a torque restraint which is non-rigid and centrally positioned in substantial alignment with the longitudinal axis of the pump shaft so that angular moments of force which would tend to bend the pump shaft are avoided or resisted. The bracket includes a channel-shaped member having a telescopic web and no precision alignment is required to operationally mount and connect the pump to the tractor. The bracket includes a slidable connection to the tractor drawbar so that no tools are required for operational mounting.

  • Patent number: 4822094
Abstract: A seat suspension mechanism providing a vertical range of cushion travel to a tractor seat when fluid is supplied to the mechanism. The suspension mechanism includes a linkage assembly movable through a predetermined path of travel for securing the seat to the frame and a damper assembly operable in combination with the linkage assembly for regulating the cushion travel of the seat. The present invention further includes an automatic seat stop mechanism connectable to the suspension mechanism for limiting the movement of the linkage assembly and the seat upon cessation or interruption of fluid flow to the seat suspension mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4820190
Abstract: An electrical component mounting and connection assembly for direct connection to a connecting wire cable includes a base member having a cavity and wire-receiving slots into which the electrical leads of a sensor, such as a magnetically actuated reed switch, and the wires of the connecting cable are positioned. A cooperating insert member includes insulation displacing contacts and latching structures to physically latch the insert member and base member together to allow the insulation displacing contacts to establish electrical contact with the slot-retained wire conductors. The circuit wires follow a path to an exterior surface of the assembly to allow direct electrical probing of the wire ends to test the circuit components and their connections. In the preferred embodiment, the base member and insert define cooperating `snap` together parts that allow time and cost efficient connection of the sensor device assemblies at the point of installation.

  • Patent number: 4819737
Abstract: A row crop cultivator particularly adapted for ridge-hill and minimum tillage farming conditions. The cultivator carries a number of tools including spaced hilling disks, a coulter wheel and a sweep for effectively pitching soil and cutting crop residues and weeds between the planted rows. A gauge wheel assembly is provided for controlling the depth of penetration of the tools into the soil. The gauge wheel assembly includes a pair of elongated arms pivotally connected between a pair of parallel plates on the cultivator frame. Series of vertically spaced adjustment holes are formed in the plates and a pin member is selectively insertable in any aligned pair of holes to limit pivotal movement of the gauge wheel arms the elevation of the gauge wheel relative to the frame. The gauge wheel adjustments are easily made by hand in the field without the use of tools.

  • Patent number: 4817328
Abstract: A downrigger assembly comprises a weight downline and line release mechanism which releasably secures a fishing line to the downline, the line release mechanism having a groove at one end opposite to the end connected to the downline which is oriented in a direction parallel to the downline, and a guide member is pivotally mounted for movement between a position in which it cooperates with the groove in retaining the fishing line therein and a position out of the path of the fishing line when sufficient force is applied to the guide member by the fishing line. The line release mechanism is attached to the downline so that it can be released and retrieved independently of the downline, and the downline itself includes a weighted member at its lower end having a releasable clamp to secure the downline to the weight so that the weight will normally travel in a horizontal direction but in the event of becoming lodged can be tipped so as to assist in its retrieval.
