Abstract: Disclosed are method and apparatus for processing of highway toll payments by a mobile telecommunications service provider. A mobile telecommunications device communicates with a mobile telecommunications service provider. The mobile telecommunications service provider receives a request to calculate a route to a destination. The mobile telecommunications service provider determines the location of the mobile telecommunications device from a global navigation satellite system or from a mobile telecommunications network and calculates a route. The mobile telecommunications service provider then identifies toll booths along the calculated route. The mobile telecommunications service provider pre-pays the tolls. The mobile telecommunications service provider sends turn-by-turn instructions to the mobile telecommunications device and tracks the location of the mobile telecommunications device and records the date and time at which the mobile telecommunications device passes through a toll booth.

Abstract: The claimed subject matter relates to an architecture that can enhance and/or simplify tactile-based I/O transactions in connection with a user-interface (UI) of limited form factor. In particular, the architecture can monitor a position of a selector object such as an operator's finger relative to a UI display as the selector object hovers or moves above the UI display. Based upon this position, an analogous coordinate in the UI display can be determined, and a portion of the UI display substantially centered at the coordinate can be modified. As one example, the UI display can be modified to increase the magnification scale (e.g., a virtual magnifying glass) of the portion of the display indicated by the selector object.

Abstract: A method is provided for predictive modeling of a physical process in order to determine and implement a solution to the physical process. The method includes storing representations of relevant physical relationships, observations, and outcome probabilities related to the physical process in a memory of a computer, recursively analyzing the stored representations by the computer, and generating at least one tree structure that models the physical process, the tree structure including at least one root node, a plurality of decision nodes, and a plurality of end nodes. The method also includes determining a solution to the physical process based on criterion variables, by the computer using the tree structure of the physical process to arrive at an end node, and implementing a physical solution to the physical process, the physical solution being based on the determined solution.
Abstract: Implementation of a virtual service includes connecting a set top box (STB) of a first user to a STB of a second user and a STB of a third user, providing a first video of the first and second users to corresponding STBs, and providing a second video of the first and third users to corresponding STBs. The virtual service also includes displaying the first video on a device of the first user and a device of the second user simultaneously with broadcast content. The virtual service further includes displaying the second video on the device of the first user and on a device of the third user simultaneously with the broadcast content. The displaying is implemented such that the second user and the third user are unaware of the mutual connection to the set top box of the first user.
Abstract: Sensitive content is securely shared. A request is received from a first communication device to share sensitive content. The first communication device is associated with an account for a communication service provided by a network provider. A message including a link to the sensitive content is sent to a second communication device associated with a phone number. That message is addressed to the second communication device. An authentication message is received, indicating that the second communication device is associated with the phone number. Responsive to receipt of the authentication message, the sensitive content is made accessible via the second communication device without requiring that the second communication device be associated with an account for the communication service provided by the network provider.
Abstract: Methods and compositions are provided which employ a silencing element that, when ingested by a pest, such as a Coleopteran plant pest or a Diabrotica plant pest, decrease the expression of a target sequence in the pest. In specific embodiments, the decrease in expression of the target sequence controls the pest and thereby the methods and compositions are capable of limiting damage to a plant. The present invention provides various target polynucleotides set forth in any one of SEQ ID NOS: 1-236 or active variants and fragments thereof, wherein a decrease in expression of one or more the sequences in the target pest controls the pest (i.e., has insecticidal activity). Further provided are silencing elements which when ingested by the pest decrease the level of the target polypeptide and thereby control the pest. In specific embodiment, the pest is D. virgifera virgifera, D. barberi, D. speciosa, or D. undecimpunctata howardi.

Abstract: A method and system for programming a universal remote control (URC) to operate with a remote-controlled device is disclosed. Programming codes for the remote-controlled device may be transferred from an original remote control using a programming interface. The transfer may be performed directly with the URC. The transfer may also be performed using consumer-premises equipment of a multimedia content distribution network. The URC may be configured to use at least one of the programming codes to remotely control the remote-controlled device.

Abstract: A method includes receiving input at an online electronic data discovery system from a source device via a private network. The input indicates that data related to a legal matter is to be preserved, and identifies a custodian associated with the data. The method includes automatically accessing a directory via the private network and receiving information from the directory indicating a location of the identified custodian. The method includes sending a preservation notice to the identified custodian when the information received from the directory indicates that the custodian is accessible via the private network. The preservation notice indicates that data related to the legal matter is not to be discarded. The method includes sending the preservation notice to another custodian when the information received from the directory indicates that the identified custodian is not accessible.
Abstract: The present invention generally relates to polyamide compositions having improved anti-delamination. More specifically, the present invention relates to novel polyamide compositions demonstrating improved anti-delamination, which have at least one low purity polyamide.
Abstract: In accordance with one embodiment of the disclosed technology, inconsistencies are detected between various records relating to data that has been associated with an identification tag. Data packages associated with the inconsistencies may then be removed. In accordance with another aspect of the disclosed technology, requests relating to data packages associated with inconsistencies in the various stored records are identified and removed. The disclosed technology may be implemented in data warehouses.
Abstract: Methods and systems for programmed dispensation of consumable compositions are provided. A method for administering a consumable composition may comprise: (a) dispensing a dose of a first consumable composition according to a programmed dosing schedule; and (b) detecting an identity of the first consumable composition. A system for administering a consumable composition may comprise: (a) means for dispensing a dose of a first consumable composition according to a programmed dosing schedule; and (b) means for detecting an identity of the first consumable composition.

Abstract: A distributed antenna and backhaul system provide network connectivity for a small cell deployment. Rather than building new structures, and installing additional fiber and cable, embodiments described herein disclose using high-bandwidth, millimeter-wave communications and existing power line infrastructure. Above ground backhaul connections via power lines and line-of-sight millimeter-wave band signals as well as underground backhaul connections via buried electrical conduits can provide connectivity to the distributed base stations. An overhead millimeter-wave system can also be used to provide backhaul connectivity. Modules can be placed onto existing infrastructure, such as streetlights and utility poles, and the modules can contain base stations and antennas to transmit the millimeter-waves to and from other modules.

Abstract: This invention pertains to a thermal treatment process for converting azo crosslinks in an azo-crosslinked fluoropolymer having perfluoroether pendant groups to perfluoroalkyl crosslinks. The perfluoroalkyl crosslinks exhibit greater thermal and chemical stability than to the azo crosslinks. According to the treatment, an azo-crosslinked fluoropolymer having perfluoroether pendant groups is subject to heating in the temperature range of 300 to 350° C. in order to effect a high degree of conversion to the perfluoroalkyl-crosslinked fluoropolymer.
