Abstract: In one aspect, embodiments disclosed herein relate to an oil-based wellbore fluid. The oil-based wellbore fluid may include an oleaginous liquid and a surface-modified precipitated silica, wherein the surface-modified precipitated silica comprises a lipophilic coating. In another aspect, embodiments disclosed herein relate to a method of drilling or servicing a well. The method may include circulating a wellbore fluid, such as that described in the paragraph above, into a wellbore, and recovering at least a portion of the wellbore fluid from the wellbore.

Abstract: A method, computer-readable storage device and apparatus for determining a regression of a medical condition are disclosed. For example, a method receives characteristics of motion information, wherein the characteristics of motion information is based upon gait information, compares the characteristics of motion information over a time period to a profile of the medical condition, wherein the profile of the medical condition comprises a plurality of signatures associated with different stages of the medical condition, determines a potential presence of the regression of the medical condition when the characteristics of motion information matches one of the plurality of signatures, and transmits a notification of the potential presence of the regression of the medical condition.

Abstract: A method, computer-readable storage device and apparatus for determining a mode of motion are disclosed. For example, a method receives training data comprising gait information associated with a plurality of different modes of motion. The method performs principal component analysis on the training data to extract principal components from the training data and generates a hidden markov model for each of a plurality of different modes of motion based upon the training data. The method receives testing data comprising gait information, transforms the testing data based upon the principal components and calculates a likelihood of the testing data based upon each hidden markov model for each of the plurality of different modes of motion. The method determines the mode of motion of the testing data, where the mode of motion is one of the plurality of different modes of motion for which a highest likelihood is calculated.

For example, a method receives characteristics of motion information, wherein the characteristics of motion information is based upon gait information, monitors the characteristics of motion information over a time period to determine a plurality of different modes of motion within the time period, and calculates the health quality measure based upon the plurality of different modes of motion.

Abstract: In a method for cooling a flow containing at least 35% carbon dioxide and at least 0.2 ?g/Nm3 of mercury, the mercury being in liquid and/or gas form, the flow is cooled in a first brazed aluminum plate-fin heat exchanger from a first temperature to a second temperature higher than ?38.6° C. to form a cold flow at the second temperature, and the flow cooled to the second temperature is cooled in a second heat exchanger, which is a tube and shell heat exchanger, to a third temperature lower than ?38.6° C.

Abstract: Mechanisms for user application access to cell broadcast messaging in a mobile communication environment are described herein. By way of example, a location-based message such as a cell broadcast message can be received by an operating system of a mobile device, which can generate an instance of the message for a user application registered with the operating system. Upon determining the message to be a location-based message, message data can be converted into a fielded data object which can be utilized by user application of the mobile device. Data, commands, etc., of the CB message can then be implemented in conjunction with application processes or business logic to control device functionality, perform tasks, output data over a user interface, initiate communications, and so forth.

The article comprising a substrate comprising a first surface and a second surface, the second surface in contact with an outside environment, wherein the substrate comprises a polymer comprising poly(trimethylene furandicarboxylate) (PTF), and wherein the polymer provides an improvement in gas barrier properties of the substrate as compared to a substrate comprising nascent polyethylene terephthalate) (PET).

Abstract: Techniques for sharing a cellular network connection amongst multiple devices over a local area network are provided that reduce cellular network load during crowded events. In an aspect, a devices is configure to perform operations that include scanning an area for another device that has established a first wireless cellular connection with a cellular network device of a cellular network and that enables an indirect connection of the device to the cellular network device via a direct connection of the device to the other device via a local network device. The operations further include, in response to identifying the other device as a result of the scanning, sending a request to the other device to connect to the other device via the local network device and to receive the indirect connection to the cellular network device.

Abstract: A method and system for determining whether an IP address is part of a bot-network are provided. The IP-address-aggregate associated with the IP address of an e-mail sender is determined. The IP-address-aggregate is associated with an IP-address-aggregate-category based on the current SMTP traffic characteristics of the IP-address-aggregate and the known SMTP traffic characteristics of an IP-address-aggregate-category. A bot-likelihood score of the IP-address-aggregate-category is then associated with IP-address-aggregate. IP-address-aggregate-categories can be established based on historical SMTP traffic characteristics of the IP-address-aggregates. The IP-address-aggregates are grouped based on SMTP characteristics, and the IP-address-aggregate-categories are defined based on a selection of IP-address-aggregates with similar SMTP traffic characteristics that are diagnostic of spam bots vs. non-botnet-controllers spammers.

Abstract: A back-sheet for a photovoltaic module is provided comprising a fire resistant polymeric film and a second polymeric film adhered to the fire resistant polymeric film. The fire resistant polymeric film comprises a polymer that does not melt at temperatures below 275° C. and an inorganic particulate filler selected from inorganic metal oxides and inorganic metal nitrides, and combinations thereof. The fire resistant polymeric film contains from 40 to 75 weight percent inorganic particulate filler based on the total weight of the film, and the fire resistant polymeric film has an average thickness of at least 85 microns. A photovoltaic module comprising such a back-sheet is also provided.

The method then sends the call target rate by the at least one core signaling network element to the at least one edge signaling network element, when a total queueing delay of the at least one core signaling network element exceeds a predefined high threshold in a measurement interval, wherein the call target rate is used by the at least one edge signaling network element in an overload control that throttles signaling traffic.
