    Abstract: The invention relates to a method and an associated device for simulating the driving characteristics of a drive concept to be developed for a motor vehicle. The aim of the invention is to provide a method and an associated device for simulating the driving characteristics of a drive concept to be developed for a motor vehicle, using which the longitudinal dynamics and the energy requirements of designed concepts are simulated, compared with one another and validated during an actual driving operation. According to the invention, in order to simulate the driving characteristics of a drive concept to be developed for a motor vehicle during an actual driving operation for a production vehicle, the engine and transmission control are influenced by means of an additional control unit in such a way that the longitudinal dynamics of the production vehicle correspond to that of a designed hybrid drive.

A desired value for the asymmetry or the amplitude of the oscillation of the test signal of the lambda probe around the respective switching point is predefined, the switching point of the on-off controller being moved such that the desired value is reached.

    Abstract: A reciprocating-piston internal combustion engine has a crank drive and a transmission lever indirectly coupled with the piston and intersecting the cylinder axis. The lever is articulated onto the crank drive's connecting rod and onto an adjustable bearing guided in the cylinder block. For greater variation of the translation of movements between crank drive and piston, the pulling and pushing rod connected with the piston has a guide at its end facing the transmission lever. The guide is preferably a pivotally-mounted slide shoe that engages into a guide extending along the transmission lever. The transmission lever is pivotally connected with the crankshaft connecting rod and connected with a setting drive for variably setting the articulation of the pulling and pushing rod on the transmission lever. A guide lever pivotally connected with the pulling and pushing rod and pivotally articulated onto the cylinder block guides the pulling and pushing rod.

The cam engages an intermediate element that it is additionally moved by the lifting curve of the cam during a different work cycle, and adjusts the pivot lever to open the load-change valve slightly during a different work cycle. The intermediate element is prismatically guided on an element that can pivot in the cylinder head and is adjustable in its position, and engages the cam and the pivot lever, so that the stroke movement of the cam for opening the load-change valve via the pivot lever can be adjusted.
