  • Patent number: 11533137
Abstract: A wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU) may send a grant free transmission comprising a first and a second part, each of which may be associated with a priority. The first part's priority may be higher than the second part's priority. The WTRU may select a first back of value from a first range of back off values. The WTRU may determine whether the grant free transmission was successful. If the grant free transmission was not successful, the WTRU may send a retransmission of the grant free transmission, which may include the first part and may not include the second part. The retransmission may select a second back off value from a second range of back off values, which may be a larger than the first range of back off values. The second back off value may indicate the number of grant free resource to skip prior to sending the retransmission.

  • Patent number: 11533146
Abstract: Methods and systems for detecting an enhanced massive mobile broadband (eMBB) physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) in the presence of for ultra-reliable low latency communication (URLLC) users are disclosed. A eMBB wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may receive a eMBB control resource set (CORESET) configuration for a CORESET including a PDCCH preemption indicator. If PDCCH preemption is enabled based on the PDCCH preemption indicator, the eMBB WTRU may identify and remove preempted resource element groups (REGs) in the eMBB CORESET by comparing channel estimates for each REG bundle in the eMBB CORESET. The WTRU may perform channel estimation based on remaining REGs in the eMBB CORESET and detect the PDCCH by performing blind decoding, based on a received signal, on the remaining REGs in the eMBB CORESET.

  • Publication number: 20220400362
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are described herein for proximity-based services (ProSe) service-based discovery. For example, a service utilizing-wireless transmit/receive unit (SU-WTRU) may be provisioned with a type of discovery on a per-service basis and a security credential on a per-service basis. The SU-WTRU may transmit (315) a PC5 discovery message with the type of discovery and a first security element that is generated based on the security credential. The WTRU may then receive (325), from a service providing-wireless transmit/receive unit (SP-WTRU), a PC5 discovery response message that includes a second security element and a service identity associated with a service that the SP-WTRU provides. On a condition that the second security element is verified based on the provisioned security credential, the SU-WTRU may authorize (330) the SP-WTRU to establish a PC5 communication link with the SP-WTRU.

  • Publication number: 20220400396
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are described herein for reporting channel failure, and may be used, among others, for New Radio (NR) operation in unlicensed spectrum (NR-U). Upon detecting a consistent uplink (UL) listen-before-talk (LBT) failure or upon detecting a beam failure on a cell, a Scheduling Request (SR) may be triggered to have a UL resource granted for transmission of the failure to another cell, or to a subset of other cells, using, for example, a failure recovery Medium Access Control-Control Element (MAC-CE). If no grant of an available UL resource can be obtained for transmission of the MAC-CE, or the grant is not suitable for the failure reporting, a failure recovery SR may be transmitted repeatedly to obtain an UL grant suitable for transmitting the failure report. In some cases, a WTRU may initiate a random-access procedure for transmitting the MAC-CE, for example when resources for failure reporting are not configured.

  • Patent number: 11528701
Abstract: A WTRU may receive downlink control information (DCI) indicating a start of a frame. The DCI may be received on a control channel, such as the Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) from an eNB, base station, AP, or other infrastructure equipment operating in a wireless communications system. The WTRU may decode the DCI and may determine a transmit time interval (TTI) duration, which may be expressed in terms of an integer number of basic time intervals (BTIs). The WTRU may determine a downlink (DL) transmission portion and assignment and an uplink (UL) transmission portion and UL grant based on the received DCI. Additionally, the WTRU may determine the start of the UL portion based on an offset (toffset). The WTRU may receive data in a DL portion of the frame and may transmit in an UL portion of the frame based on the determined UL grant and TTI duration.

  • Publication number: 20220394672
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are described herein for paging procedures in wireless systems. For example, a wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU) may monitor one or more physical downlink control channels (PDCCHs) for paging resources associated with a first subset of synchronization signal (SS) blocks that corresponds to a first beam tracking area (BTA). On a condition that at least one measurement of at least one beam associated with the first subset of SS blocks is less than a predetermined threshold, the WTRU may transmit, to a base station (BS), a signal indicating a second BTA that is associated with a second subset of SS blocks. The signal includes a physical random access channel (PRACH) resource associated with a second group of SS blocks that corresponds to the second BTA.

  • Publication number: 20220386366
Abstract: A wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU) may receive a set of candidate resources, which may be used for transmission. The WTRU may periodically perform CCA on a channel (e.g., before transmitting on the channel). When the channel is determined to be free, the WTRU may determine a resource for transmission from the candidate resources. The resource may be determined based on the time remaining in the time period. For example, when the time remaining in the time period is shorter, the WTRU may determine to transmit on a resource that comprises more frequency resources. The WTRU may determine a Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) scheme based on the number of frequency resources. The WTRU may send a transmission on the resource, which may include a demodulation reference signal (DM-RS). The DM-RS may indicate the resource used from transmission to a receiver of the transmission.

  • Publication number: 20220376826
Abstract: Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed for interleaving coded bits. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may generate a plurality of polar encoded bits using polar encoding. The WTRU may divide the plurality of polar encoded bits into sub-blocks of equal size in a sequential manner. The WTRU may apply sub-block wise interleaving to the sub-blocks using an interleaver pattern. The sub-blocks associated with a subset of the sub-blocks may be interleaved, and sub-blocks associated with another subset of the sub-blocks may not be interleaved. The sub-block wise interleaving may include applying interleaving across the sub-blocks without interleaving bits associated with each of the sub-blocks. The WTRU may concatenate bits from each of the interleaved sub-blocks to generate interleaved bits, and store the interleaved bits associated with the interleaved sub-blocks in a circular buffer. The WTRU may select a plurality of bits for transmission from the interleaved bits.
