Abstract: Data is classified using semi-supervised data. Sparse coefficients are computed using a decomposition of a Laplacian matrix. (B) Updated parameter values are computed for a dimensionality reduction method using the sparse coefficients, the Laplacian matrix, and a plurality of observation vectors. The updated parameter values include a robust estimator of a decomposition matrix determined from the decomposition of the Laplacian matrix. (B) is repeated until a convergence parameter value indicates the updated parameter values for the dimensionality reduction method have converged. A classification matrix is defined using the sparse coefficients and the robust estimator of the decomposition of the Laplacian matrix. The target variable value is determined for each observation vector based on the classification matrix.

Abstract: Hydrogel-elastomer hybrids with interfacial bonding tougher than epidermis-dermis interfaces and functional micro-channels and micro-patterns can be created by pre-shaping both elastomers and hydrogels before bonding to conserve their micro-structures, modifying cured elastomer surfaces with benzophenone for chemical bonding with hydrogels, and harnessing dissipative properties of tough hydrogels to achieve robust interfaces.
Abstract: Described herein are compositions and kits comprising recombinant adeno-associated viruses (rAAVs) with tropisms showing increased specificity and efficiency of viral transduction in targeted cell-types, for e.g., the brain, and lung. The rAAV compositions described herein also have tropisms showing decreased specificity and decreased efficiency of viral transduction in an off-target cell type, for e.g., the liver. The rAAV compositions described herein encapsidate a transgene, such a therapeutic nucleic acid. Upon systemic delivery to a subject, the rAAV is capable of increased specificity and increased transduction of the transgene in a target cell-type, as compared to a parental or reference AAV.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a multi-mode imaging optical system. The multi-mode imaging optical system includes a stage configured to hold a to-be-tested sample. An imaging unit implements in-situ imaging of the to-be-tested sample. An absorption and forward scattering illumination unit irradiates the to-be-tested sample, and forms absorption imaging or forward scattered light imaging in the imaging unit. A side scattering illumination unit performs a first oblique illumination on the to-be-tested sample, so that scattered light of microparticles in the to-be-tested sample forms side scattered light imaging in the imaging unit. A fluorescent illumination unit performs a second oblique illumination on the to-be-tested sample, and excites the microparticles in the to-be-tested sample to emit fluorescence, where the fluorescence forms fluorescence imaging in the imaging unit.

Abstract: Transducer driving methods and transducer driving systems are described. According to one aspect, a transducer driving method includes providing a plurality of initial driving signals to a transducer, wherein each of the initial driving signals has a respective one of a plurality of different frequencies, identifying one of the frequencies where the transducer has a reduced impedance as a result of the provision of one of the initial driving signals having the one frequency to the transducer compared with impedances of the transducer resulting from the provision of others of the initial driving signals having others of the frequencies to the transducer, determining that the identified one of the frequencies is not acceptable for driving the transducer, as a result of the determining, identifying another of the frequencies, and driving the transducer using another driving signal having the another frequency.

Abstract: A simple spray coating process can be utilized to create epoxy/HNT nanocomposites with vertically aligned nanotubes. Important mechanical properties such as modulus and hardness values can be optimized and enhanced by controlling the level of nanotube dispersion during processing and the final orientation of the nanotubes. Thus, a technologically relevant processing scheme can be used to fabricate HNT nanocomposites with a high level of control over nanotube alignment and the resulting mechanical properties.

Abstract: A user equipment receives a first uplink grant and a second uplink grant from a base station. The first uplink grant assigns first uplink resources, and the second uplink grant assigns second uplink resources. The first uplink resources and the second uplink resources overlap within a time interval. The user equipment determines whether the transmission of second data has priority over that of first data. When determining that the transmission of the second data has priority over that of the first data, the user equipment determines one of the first uplink resources and the second uplink resources as the designated resources of the second data, and transmits the second data to the base station according to the designated resources within the time interval.
