Abstract: A first electronic device according to various embodiments may select one of a plurality of representation matrices and one of a plurality of measurement matrices on the basis of a pattern and/or feature of data received from a sensor. The selection of the representation matrix and the measurement matrix may be performed on the basis of machine learning. Based on the selected representation matrix and measurement matrix, the first electronic device may adaptively compress at least a portion of the data. A second electronic device according to various embodiments may restore compressed data on the basis of the result of selecting the representation matrix and the measurement matrix. By dynamically selecting the representation matrix and the measurement matrix on the basis of machine learning, it is possible to reduce an error in the data restored by the second electronic device (e.g., a restoration error).

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for preparing a carbon-supported platinum-transition metal alloy nanoparticle catalyst using a stabilizer. According to the method, the transition metal on the nanoparticle surface and the stabilizer are simultaneously removed by treatment with acetic acid. Therefore, the method enables the preparation of a carbon-supported platinum-transition metal alloy nanoparticle catalyst in a simple and environmentally friendly manner compared to conventional methods. The carbon-supported platinum-transition metal alloy nanoparticle catalyst can be applied as a high-performance, highly durable fuel cell catalyst.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for producing medium chain diol and, more particularly to recombinant microorganisms in which fatty alcohol dehydrogenase and/or fatty alcohol oxidase genes on a ?-oxidative metabolism pathway are deleted, the fatty aldehyde dehydrogenase genes are optionally deleted, and ?-oxidative metabolism pathway-related genes are deleted, and to a method for producing medium chain diol from fatty acid-derived alcohol or alkane by culturing the recombinant microorganisms. The recombinant microorganisms of the present invention can produce a high yield of medium chain diol by preventing further oxidation and ?-oxidative metabolism of fatty alcohols.

The fluorosulfonyl-containing compound disclosed in the present invention comprises a cation and an anion, the cation being as shown in Formula (1). The fluorosulfonyl-containing compound of the present invention can react with a substrate to efficiently synthesize a fluorosulfonylation product, has low toxicity, was simple to prepare, was convenient to use, and was in a solid stable state at normal temperature. Furthermore, the compound has a wide range of adaptable substrates, including phenolic compounds and amine compounds, and was the only solid form agent that can achieve such a chemical conversion, and therefore has important academic and application value.

Abstract: Devices and methods described herein decode a sequence of coded symbols by guessing noise. In various embodiments, noise sequences are ordered, either during system initialization or on a periodic basis. Then, determining a codeword includes iteratively guessing a new noise sequence, removing its effect from received data symbols (e.g. by subtracting or using some other method of operational inversion), and checking whether the resulting data are a codeword using a codebook membership function. This process is deterministic, has bounded complexity, asymptotically achieves channel capacity as in convolutional codes, but has the decoding speed of a block code. In some embodiments, the decoder tests a bounded number of noise sequences, abandoning the search and declaring an erasure after these sequences are exhausted. Abandonment decoding nevertheless approximates maximum likelihood decoding within a tolerable bound and achieves channel capacity when the abandonment threshold is chosen appropriately.

Abstract: A framework is presented for designing a class of distributed, asynchronous optimization algorithms realized as signal processing architectures utilizing various conservation principles. The architectures are specifically based on stationary conditions pertaining to primal and dual variables in a class of generally nonconvex optimization problems. The stationary conditions, which are closely related to the principles of stationary content and co-content that naturally arise from Tellegen's theorem in electrical networks, are transformed via a linear change of coordinates to obtain a set of linear and nonlinear maps that form the basis for implementation. The resulting algorithms can operate by processing a linear superposition of primal and dual decision variables using the associated maps, coupled using synchronous or asynchronous delay elements to form a distributed system.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a photovoltaic-photothermal reaction complementary full-spectrum solar utilization system, comprising: a waveband thermal reactor having a reactant flow channel and a reaction chamber therein, a photovoltaic cell attached to a surface of the waveband thermal reactor, and a full spectrum concentrator configured to concentrate full spectrum sunlight onto a surface of the photovoltaic cell, wherein the full spectrum concentrating device concentrates the full spectrum sunlight onto a upper surface of the opaque or transmissive photovoltaic cell, wherein a portion of the sunlight is converted into electric energy and another portion of the sunlight is converted into thermal energy, and wherein the thermal energy is utilized by the waveband thermal reactor to preheat reactant(s) in the reaction chamber and to make a portion of the reactant(s) to undergo an endothermic chemical reaction such that the thermal energy is stored as chemical energy.

Abstract: Methods of vaccination of animals are provided. In an embodiment, a paired administration of a primer vaccine provides for non-oral administration of a vaccine and an oral administration of the vaccine and can be followed by a paired administration of a booster vaccine of a non-oral administration and an oral administration. Embodiments provide the non-oral and oral administration are within three days of each other. The methods provide for improved protective response in an animal compared to administration of a primer non-oral administered vaccine followed by three booster non-oral administered vaccines. An adjuvant is provided that is a microcrystalline polysaccharide-based adjuvant derived from delta inulin.
Abstract: Disclosed are an encoding device and a decoding device, which include a CNN-based in-loop filter. The encoding device according to one embodiment comprises: a filtering unit for generating filtering information by filtering a residual image corresponding to a difference between an original image and a prediction image; an inverse filtering unit for generating inverse filtering information by inversely filtering the filtering information; a prediction unit for generating the prediction image on the basis of the original image and reconstruction information; a CNN-based in-loop filter for receiving the inverse filtering information and the prediction image so as to output the reconstruction information; and an encoding unit for performing encoding on the basis of the filtering information and information of the prediction image.
