    Abstract: The present invention relates to a nanosecond pulse laser device. The nanosecond pulse laser device of the present invention comprises: a light source which outputs a nanosecond pulse laser beam; a lens which focuses the laser beam; a Raman shift optical fiber which generates pulse lasers corresponding to a plurality of wavelengths through stimulated Raman scattering of the focused laser beam; a wavelength divider which divides, from among the pulse lasers, the pulse lasers of a predetermined wavelength; an optical switch which selects the pulse lasers outputted from the wavelength divider to mutually alternate the wavelengths in response to a switch control signal which is applied from the outside; and a wavelength combiner which combines and outputs the pulse lasers whose wavelengths are alternatively outputted from the switch.

    Abstract: A method for fabricating assemblies includes providing first and second components that include ceramic, metal, or composite; positioning a multiphase joining interlayer between the first and second components, wherein the joining interlayer includes a first phase that melts at a first temperature and a second phase interspersed throughout the first phase, and wherein the second phase melts at a second temperature that is lower than the melting temperature of the first phase; and heating the joining interlayer to a temperature in the range of 725° C. to 1450° C. for a predetermined period of time to soften the first phase and melt the second phase, wherein the first phase remains in a solid or a semi-solid state, and wherein the second phase segregates to the boundaries of the first phase and transforms the joining interlayer into a substantially porosity-free adherent material that joins the first component to the second component.

    Abstract: The Vrs1 gene was found to be highly expressed in the pistils of sterile lateral spikelets of two-row barley, showing that the VRS1 protein suppresses the fertility of florets in lateral spikelets. In addition, it was also found that the introduction of siRNA specific to the Vrs1 gene into two-row barley successfully restored the fertility of lateral spikelets and thus can increase the number of grains. The vrs1 gene derived from wheat was isolated for the first time, and the expression site of the gene was found to be specific to upper florets to be sterile in spikelets. Furthermore, it was confirmed that the introduction of siRNA specific to the wheat Vrs1 gene into wheat successfully increased the number of florets and the number of grains per spikelet, enabling provision of a method and an agent for increasing the number of grains per spikelet of wheat.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to an AhpF protein which has thioredoxin reductase, peroxidase, and chaperone activities and is derived from Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and a use therefor. By using a novel activity of the AhpF of Pseudomonas aeruginosa according to the present invention, it is possible to produce a plant having strong resistance to various environmental stresses such as oxidative stress or heat stress, thereby making it possible to contribute to increasing crop productivity and mass production of useful constituents. In addition, it is possible to prevent desertification and environmental pollution through the development of transformed plants having resistance to high temperatures and drying.
