Abstract: A highly proton conductive polymer electrolyte composite membrane for a fuel cell is provided. The composite membrane includes crosslinked polyvinylsulfonic acid. The composite membrane is produced by impregnating a mixed solution of vinylsulfonic acid as a monomer, a hydroxyl group-containing bisacrylamide as a crosslinking agent and a photoinitiator or thermal initiator into a microporous polymer support, polymerizing the monomer, and simultaneously thermal-crosslinking or photo-crosslinking the polymer to form a chemically crosslinked polymer electrolyte membrane which is also physically crosslinked with the porous support. Further provided is a method for producing the composite membrane in a simple manner at low cost as well as a fuel cell using the composite membrane.

Abstract: A method of providing location information in a wireless communication system includes receiving a location information request message, including Location Based Service (LBS) control information, from a Base Station (BS), the LBS control information being information about a condition in which location information is reported, performing LBS measurement, and if the condition is satisfied, transmitting a location information response message, including location information collected through the LBS measurement, to the BS. In accordance with the present invention, in a wireless access system supporting LBS, LBS-related information can be reported irrespective of the state of a User Equipment (UE). In particular, in the case in which a UE is in an idle state, location information can be provided efficiently and rapidly.

Abstract: The efficiency and effectiveness of apparatuses for vaporizing and combusting liquid fuel can be improved using thermal conductors. For example, an apparatus having a liquid fuel vaporizer and a combustion chamber can be characterized by a thermal conductor that conducts heat from the combustion chamber to the vaporizer. The thermal conductor can be a movable member positioned at an insertion depth within the combustion chamber that corresponds to a rate of heat conduction from the combustion chamber to the vaporizer. The rate of heat conduction can, therefore, be adjusted by positioning the movable member at a different insertion depth.

Abstract: A method, system, apparatus, and computer readable medium has been provided with the ability to obtain a complex permittivity ? or a complex permeability ? of a sample in a cavity. One or more complex-valued resonance frequencies (fm) of the cavity, wherein each fm is a measurement, are obtained. Maxwell's equations are solved exactly for ?, and/or ?, using the fm as known quantities, thereby obtaining the ? and/or ? of the sample.
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a ranging apparatus and method. The ranging apparatus includes a correlation unit for correlating OFDMA reception signals with inverse fast Fourier transformed ranging codes, and outputting correlation result values. A threshold determination unit determines a threshold value depending on characteristics of the reception signals. A comparison unit estimates a delay time by selecting a maximum value from among the correlation result values, and detects a ranging code by comparing the maximum value with the threshold value, and then outputs and feeds back the ranging code and the delay time when the maximum value is equal to or greater than the threshold value. A weight multiplication unit delays the ranging code by the delay time, multiplies a weight by the delayed ranging code, and outputs a resulting value. A calculation unit subtracts the resulting value from the reception signals, and provides adjusted reception signals.

Abstract: We discovered that the use of certain dopants or dopant moieties in polymeric coating formulations, that when applied over carbon nanotubes, unexpectedly decrease the measured electrical resistance of the coated carbon nanotubes (CNTs), when measured through the coating, even though the polymer coatings themselves do not have bulk conductivity. CNT compositions with enhanced electrical conductivity and methods of making such compositions are described. The CNTs are preferably coated with a dopant or dopant moiety having a HOMO energy of ?7.0 eV or lower.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to lubricant oil compositions formed from base stock oils to optimize internal combustion engine performance. Base stock oils are identified that have selected cetane number characteristics and relatively reduced reactivity to improve their associated combustion characteristics and reduce engine knock without the need to modify the engine fuel or engine parameters such as compression ratio and/or ignition timing. The base stocks may specifically include esters of dicarboxylic acids, esters of trimellitic anhydride and/or alklyated naphthalene compounds.

Abstract: Water is separated from a liquid mixture (e.g., sea water) using a humidification chamber and a dehumidification chamber that are each operated at a pressure less than ambient atmospheric pressure (e.g., at least 10% less than ambient atmospheric pressure). A carrier gas is flowed through the humidification chamber; and inside the humidification chamber, the carrier gas directly contacts the liquid mixture to humidify the carrier gas with water evaporated from the liquid mixture to produce a humidified gas flow. The humidified gas flow is directed through the dehumidification chamber, where water is condensed from the humidified gas flow and collected.
