Abstract: A process of recovering and recycling a catalyst includes feeding an epoxidized fatty acid ester, a solvent, and a catalyst to a reactor. The solvent is reacted with the epoxidized fatty acid ester to open epoxy rings of the ester and produce a polyol. Some unreacted solvent remains after the reaction. The unreacted solvent is separated from a mixture of the polyol and the catalyst. The polyol/catalyst mixture is passed to an adsorption bed so that the catalyst is adsorbed and the polyol passes through the bed. The polyol is recovered. The adsorption bed is rinsed with the unreacted solvent to desorb the catalyst and obtain a mixture of the solvent and the catalyst. The mixture of solvent and catalyst is recycled to the reactor for further reaction.

Abstract: On a surface of a screen, a first direction parallel to a virtual plane and a second direction orthogonal to the first direction are defined. A basic diffusion member of the screen diffuses and transmits each light ray at a first angle in a first plane parallel to the first direction, and diffuses and transmits the light ray at a second angle larger than the first angle in a second plane parallel to the second direction. An adjustment diffusion member of the screen diffuses and transmits each light ray at an adjustment angle larger than the first angle in the first plane. The basic diffusion member and the adjustment diffusion member are stacked on each other such that a diffusion angle of each light ray by the screen in the first plane is adjusted to a target angle larger than the adjustment angle.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for the regeneration of nerves comprising Vax protein as an active ingredient. Vax1 is secreted in the ventral hypothalamus (vHT) explant separated from a mouse. The secreted Vax1 combines with extracellular sugar group of heparan sulfate proteoglycans (HSPGs) existing in retinal ganglion cell (RGC) axon of the retinal explant co-cultured so as for the complex invades into axonplasm. Abstract: Technologies are generally described for a four-terminal, gate-controlled, thin-film thyristor device. The thyristor device may essentially be an n-type thin-film transistor (TFT) with an additional emitter terminal. The thyristor device may exhibit an S-shaped negative differential resistance (NDR) characteristic resulting from conductance modulation. The conductance modulation may be caused by formation of a secondary channel for current flow due to an inherent structure of the device. The secondary channel may be formed in a semiconductor area within the device, the semiconductor area including a hole transporting organic semiconductor layer (HTL) and an electron transporting organic semiconductor layer (ETL). A gate terminal of the thyristor device may further allow onset of NDR characteristics to be controlled and may allow the device to be switched off.
