Abstract: Provided are a shoe image retrieval apparatus and method using a matching pair, which can accurately retrieve image information corresponding to an inputted image from the database and provide the retrieved image information, by normalizing a correspondence relation in consideration of geometric image transformation about the matching pair and allowing a similar image to be retrieved by applying the normalized correspondence relation. It is possible to detect optimum geometric image transformation from a matching pair between the inputted shoe image and the image stored in the database and simultaneously retrieve a plurality of objects in the inputted shoe image based on the detected geometric image transformation, thereby providing an efficient shoe retrieval service.

Abstract: The present invention provides a technique for adsorbing I-125 on a support for treating cancer and a method of preparing an I-125 seed using the same. Since a method of preparing iodine according to the present invention uses an intermediate having phosphate-based, oxalate-based, or arsenate-based anions introduced thereinto, the intermediate has a substitution effect of iodine 3 to 5 times higher than that of a typically used intermediate having chlorine anions introduced thereinto. According to the substitution effect, control of a radiation dose may be possible during the manufacturing of an iodine seed and an iodine seed may be prepared within a shorter period of time. Also, since an amount of residual radioactive iodine may be decreased as a result of a large amount of adsorption, an amount of radioactive iodine (I-125) waste may be decreased, and the effect thereof may be also high environmentally.

Abstract: Patterned substrates for photovoltaic and other uses are made by pressing a flexible stamp upon a thin layer of resist material, which covers a substrate, such as a wafer. The resist changes phase or becomes flowable, flowing away from locations of impression, revealing the substrate, which is subjected to some shaping process. A typical substrate is silicon, and a typical resist is a wax. Workpiece textures include extended grooves, discrete, spaced apart pits, and combinations and intermediates thereof. Platen or rotary patterning apparatus may be used. Rough and irregular workpiece substrates may be accommodated by extended stamp elements. Resist may be applied first to the workpiece, the stamp, or substantially simultaneously, in discrete locations, or over the entire surface of either. The resist dewets the substrate completely where desired.

Abstract: Active devices such as pumps and mixers have been fabricated in plastic-PDMS hybrid devices. By utilizing functionalized bis-silane primers, bond strength between Polycarbonate or PMMA and PDMS improved in dry and aqueous environments. Plastic-primer-PDMS layers exposed to acid and base solutions at 70° C. for 2 hours showed no signs of delamination at 30 psi for pH ?1 to 15 and 60 psi for pH 0 to 15. A peristaltic pump fabricated in polycarbonate achieved consistent flow rates up to peristaltic cycle frequencies of 10 Hz in water, 1OM HCl, and 1OM NaOH solutions.
