Abstract: Acoustic tags and a process for fabrication are disclosed for identifying and tracking various hosts including inanimate and animate objects in up to three dimensions. The acoustic tags may be powered by a single power source. Tags can have an operation lifetime of up to 90 days or longer at a transmission rate of 3 seconds. The acoustic tags have an enhanced signal range that enhances detection probability when tracking the hosts.

Abstract: A disc brake for railway vehicles includes a brake disc fixed to a wheel or an axle of a railway vehicle and a brake lining configured to be pressed against a frictional surface of the brake disc by a brake caliper. Abstract: A signal comparison apparatus and a method of controlling the same are provided. The signal comparison apparatus includes a first comparator, a self-timed clock generator and a controller. The first comparator is controlled by a start signal to compare differences of first input signals and generate output signals. The self-timed clock generator receives the output signals to generate a self-timed clock signal. The controller receives the self-timed clock signal and calculates a time interval of the self-timed clock signal which responds to the first input signals of the first comparator, and determines whether the time interval is equal to or larger than a threshold time to generate a metastable detection signal. When the time interval is equal to or larger than the threshold time, the controller outputs the metastable detection signal as the start signal, such that the first comparator continue comparing the next differences of the first input signals.

Abstract: A signal receiving device for measuring a characteristic of a wireless communication channel is provided. The signal receiving device includes an analog signal processor, an analog-digital converter, and a digital signal processor. Abstract: The present invention relates to a PCIe switch apparatus and a method of controlling the connection thereof. The PCIe switch apparatus includes a PCIe photoconversion unit for converting an electrical signal input from a local host into packet data and converting the converted packet data into an optical signal. A PCIe slot board unit reconverts the optical signal into the packet data, reconverts the packet data into the electrical signal, and outputs the electrical signal to a PCIe-based device. An optical cable connects the PCIe photoconversion unit and the PCIe slot board unit to each other. The PCIe switch apparatus controls a long-distance communication interface between the local host and the PCIe-based device.

Abstract: Multi-actuator system. The system includes at least two nano positioners having different ranges and bandwidths located in cascaded serial form to contact and move an object. Abstract: Disclosed herein is an Intrusion Detection System (IDS) false positive detection apparatus and method. An IDS false positive detection apparatus includes a payload extraction unit for extracting payloads by dividing each packet corresponding to an IDS detection rule into a header and a payload.
