  • Patent number: 9249128
Abstract: Serine hydrolases are implicated in malconditions such as cancer, central nervous system disorders, cardiovascular disorders, obesity, and metabolic disorders. Many serine hydrolases expressed in proteomic libraries are of unknown function in vivo. Compounds identified through library versus library screening can be used for treatment of malconditions associated with the specific serine hydrolase KIAA1363 (also known as AADACL1). A library of inhibitors of KIAA1363 was prepared and candidate compounds were identified as a potent inhibitors having submicromolar IC50 values. An exemplary compound of the invention was shown to be an effective inhibitor of prostate cancer pathogenesis. Other inhibitory compounds of the invention comprising fluorophore groups are shown to be effective in spatial and temporal localization of the serine hydrolase in cells and tissues.

  • Patent number: 9252731
Abstract: A passive electro-mechanical device that reduces phase noise in oscillators, thereby improving their frequency precision. The noise reduction device can consist of a pair of coupled nonlinear resonators that are driven parametrically—by modulating their natural frequency in time, through the output signal of a conventional oscillator at a frequency close to the sum of the linear mode frequencies. Above the threshold for parametric response, the coupled resonators can exhibit oscillation at an inherent frequency. The novel possibility for noise elimination is realized by tuning the system to operating points for which this periodic signal is immune to frequency noise in the drive signal, providing a way to clean the phase noise of the driving oscillator.

Abstract: The various embodiments herein provide a method to acquire seismic data to estimate reservoir characteristics in a shallow sea water environment. According to an embodiment herein, a method comprises acquiring four component ocean bottom cable (4C OBC) seismic data using a hydrophone and a three component geophone by varying a time delay between the shots and spacing between the shots. A full acoustic modeling process and an elastic modeling process are applied to the acquire 4C OBC seismic data to acquire a pressure data and an inline geophone data to estimate a horizontal component data and a reflected shear wave data. The estimated horizontal component data are NMO corrected and stacked by varying sampling intervals to remove noise component in the acquired seismic data.
