Abstract: The present invention features assays for co-culturing primary cells while maintaining key biological activities specific to the primary cells. The invention is based, at least in part, on the discovery that compositions and methods for primary cells in a high-throughput co-culture platform, image analysis for distinguishing cells in co-cultures and assays that are suitable for screening of agents in epithelial cells, such as hepatocytes.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a resonance generating apparatus with maximized moving mass ratio for a blade's fatigue testing, which includes a light-weighted mounting portion provided in contact with an external surface of the blade, a plurality of actuators provided on an external side of the mounting portion, and a resonance generator configured to generate bending loads in association with displacement of rods of the actuators, and to reciprocate in parallel relationship with a moving direction of the actuator rod and simultaneously to prevent the resonance generator's motions in all directions except for a direction of testing, and a fatigue testing method using the same.

Abstract: A plasmonic all-optical switch includes a graphene layer, a first dielectric layer located on the graphene layer, a nano-antenna located on the first dielectric layer, and a second dielectric layer located on the nano-antenna. An incident beam is propagated by means of a surface plasmon wave generated at an interface between the graphene layer and the first dielectric layer. Further, localized surface plasmon resonance is selectively generated at an interface between the nano-antenna and the second dielectric layer by means of a pump beam incident to the nano-antenna to decrease an intensity of the incident beam. The plasmonic all-optical switch may operate at an ultrahigh speed just with a small light energy without any electric method, greatly reduce power consumption of an IT device by applying to an all-optical transistor or the like, and increase a processing rate.

Abstract: A MEMS apparatus comprising composite vibrating unit and the manufacturing method thereof are disclosed. The vibrating unit includes a stiffness element on which a first material is disposed. A second material being a conductive material is disposed on the first material and is extended to the stiffness element to remove electric charge on first material. When a temperature is changed, a variation direction of a Young's modulus of the first material is opposite to a variation direction of a Young's modulus of the stiffness element. The unique attributes above allow vibrating unit of the MEMS apparatus such as resonator and gyroscope to have stable resonance frequency against the change of temperature.
