Abstract: A data storage apparatus and method of storing data are disclosed. An array of irradiation sources are provided for writing on an optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) material. The OSL material includes data storage pixels or spots. Each pixel or spot includes gray-scale levels with higher order bits and variable intensity. A light source stimulates luminescence on the OSL material.

Abstract: Rapid reconstitution package. The package includes a substantially cylindrical structure including a diluent chamber and a drug chamber communicating through a valve. The cylindrical structure is configured to retract under an axial force causing the valve to open to allow the diluent to flow through the valve into the drug chamber for mixing and reconstitution of the drug. Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for detecting one or more particles such as individual unlabeled molecules or single nanoparticles. In examples described herein, optical energy is introduced into a microtoroid or other microcavity to generate an evanescent field. The microcavity has a functionalized outer surface that has been functionalized with a chemically or biologically active substance such as an antibody, antigen or protein. An indication of a particle bound to the functionalized outer surface of the microcavity is then detected based on a reactive interaction between the particle and the evanescent field while using frequency locking, balanced detection and various filtering techniques. The frequency locking, balanced detection and filtering techniques reduce the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of the detection system so that single nanoparticles (e.g. 2.5 nanometers (nm) in radius) and individual molecules (e.g. 15.5 kilo-Dalton (kDa) in size) can be detected in aqueous solution in some examples.

Abstract: The present invention provides a spin-transfer torque type injection locking oscillator which improves both power and noise performance by using pair of spin-transfer torque devices. One is optimized for high power and the other is optimized for low noise characteristics. The output signal of the low noise spin-transfer torque device is injected into the high output power spin-transfer torque for phase locking. The present invention has several advantages such as the miniaturization, the high quality and low cost, and the mass production of integrated chips by the nanoscale.

Abstract: In illustrative implementations of this invention, an imaging system includes multiple light sources that illuminate a scene, and also includes a lock-in time of flight camera. While the scene is illuminated by these light sources, each of the light sources is amplitude-modulated by a different modulation pattern, and a reference signal is applied to the lock-in time-of-flight camera. The modulation patterns and the reference signal are carefully chosen such that the imaging system is able to disentangle, in real time, the respective contributions of the different light sources, and to compute, in real-time, depth of the scene. In some cases, the modulation signals for the light sources are orthogonal to each other and the reference signal is broadband. In some cases, the modulation codes for the light sources and the reference code are optimal codes that are determined by an optimization algorithm.

The process of the invention reduces or prevents particle agglomeration during fabrication of the composite particles to enable delivery and quick redispersion of nanoparticles of the ingestible material from a dosage form.

Abstract: According to a method of generating a key of the present invention, a first device and a second device are first brought into contact with one vibrator. In this state, the vibrator generates vibration. A first acceleration sensor provided in the first device and a second acceleration sensor provided in the second device detect the vibration. Subsequently, the first device notifies the second device of a first feature value based upon the detection result of the first acceleration sensor. The second device notifies the first device of a second feature value based upon the detection result of the second acceleration sensor. Then the first device compares the notified second feature value with the first feature value and generates a key based upon the comparison result.
