    Abstract: A frequency measurement device and a frequency measurement method are disclosed herein. The frequency measurement device includes a filter, a detecting module and a calculating module. The filter is configured to receive an input signal, and filter the input signal to generate a signal under measurement. The detecting module is configured to detect a plurality of wave peaks or a plurality of wave troughs of the signal under measurement through a second order differentiator, so as to generate a plurality of detecting signals. The detecting signals correspond to the wave peaks or the wave troughs respectively. The calculating module is configured to receive the detecting signals, and calculate a frequency of the signal under measurement according to the detecting signals.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a method for promoting production of biogas using pancreatin in an anaerobic digestion process. The composition for improving hydrolysis efficiency or for promoting production of biogas in an anaerobic digestion process for treatment of organic waste, includes pancreatin as an active ingredient. The organic waste is livestock manure, and the composition has optimum activity at pH 7.0 to pH 8.0. The composition further includes a microorganism with excellent degradability of degradation resistant organic compounds.

    Abstract: The present invention features compositions and methods for enhancing endosomal escape of therapeutic agents in the cytoplasm of a cell to thereby provide more effective therapy. The endocytic pathway is the major uptake mechanism of cells, and biological agents such as proteins, DNA, and siRNA become entrapped in endosomes and subsequently degraded by lysosomal enzymes. The present invention facilitates endosomal escape by providing fusion proteins with membrane disruptive activity. In some embodiments, the fusion protein has endosomolytic activity that is activated at endosomal or lysosomal pH. In other embodiments, the fusion protein has reversible and pH sensitive membrane disruptive activity so that once internalized into the endosomal or lysosomal compartments, the resulting reduction in pH causes the pH sensitive fusion protein to activate and disrupt the endosomal or lysosomal membrane.

    Abstract: The hybrid photocatalyst for wastewater remediation is a composite of rhodamine B and BiOBr. The rhodamine B has a concentration between about 0.1 wt % and about 1 wt % of the overall photocatalyst. The hybrid photocatalyst is made by immersing a BiOBr semiconductor in an aqueous rhodamine B solution to form the hybrid photocatalyst by sorption of the rhodamine B by the BiOBr semiconductor. In use, the hybrid photocatalyst is added to wastewater containing at least one contaminant, such as methyl orange (sodium 4-[(4-dimethylamino)phenyldiazenyl]benzenesulfonate), to form a suspension of the hybrid photocatalyst and the at least one contaminant. The suspension is then exposed to visible to light to form a slurry containing a reaction mixture in the wastewater. The slurry is then filtered to remove the reaction mixture.
