  • Patent number: 8965093
Abstract: A method for registering functional MRI data, comprising: computing the functional connectivity pattern for every voxel in its given spatial neighborhood for every fMRI image; extracting features invariant to spatial location of the neighboring voxels based on the functional connectivity patterns; constructing similarity metric between voxels of different images based on the extracted features, and using fluid-like demons registration model to spatial normalize the fMRI data. The present invention tries to exploit the multi-range functional connectivity information of the fMRI data, and to register functional MR images based on the extracted spatial-location-invariant features. The present invention is robust against local spatial perturbations and does not depend on the assumption that functional signals of different subjects are synchronic, hence can be applied to resting-state fMRI data, and can achieve a statistically significant improvement in functional consistency across subjects.

  • Patent number: 8966237
Abstract: An OS switching method for switching an OS within several seconds in an information processing system is provided. In the information processing system which includes a processor, a main memory, a nonvolatile memory, and a plurality of input/output apparatuses, an OS switcher is executed when power is applied to the information processing system. When a first OS acquires an OS switch command that indicates a switch to a second OS while the first OS is activated and running, the first OS stores identification information of the second OS and information indicating an OS switch in the nonvolatile memory, and performs STR. The OS switcher switches an OS from the first OS to the second OS after the STR is completed. Accordingly, in the system, one OS can be quickly switched to another OS within several seconds, and a previous working environment can be maintained.

  • Patent number: 8965762
Abstract: A method is disclosed in the present disclosure for recognizing emotion by setting different weights to at least of two kinds of unknown information, such as image and audio information, based on their recognition reliability respectively. The weights are determined by the distance between test data and hyperplane and the standard deviation of training data and normalized by the mean distance between training data and hyperplane, representing the classification reliability of different information. The method recognizes the emotion according to the unidentified information having higher weights while the at least two kinds of unidentified information have different result classified by the hyperplane and correcting wrong classification result of the other unidentified information so as to raise the accuracy while emotion recognition. Meanwhile, the present disclosure also provides a learning step with a characteristic of higher learning speed through an algorithm of iteration.

  • Patent number: 8961877
Abstract: Distinctive components that enable high-throughput, whole-animal screening are described. These components can be used individually or in various combinations. A staging chip strains off the excess fluid that the input animals are immersed in, increasing their density (number of animals in a given volume) and rapidly bringing them close to other fluidic components. A microfluidic sorter is adapted to isolate and immobilize a single, physiologically active animal in a selected geometry. A multiplexed micro-chamber chip receives single animals and the microchamber chip includes individually addressable screening chambers for imaging, incubation and exposure of individual animals to selected chemical compounds. An imaging structure generates sub-cellular, high-resolution images of the physiologically active animals. A well-plate interface chip is used to deliver elements from a compound library to a single output of the chip.
