Abstract: Described herein is a gene regulatory network based focused approach to cell transformation. The methods described herein allow for identification of circuit and sub-circuit repertoires for which modification in a starting cell type can result in generation of a transformed cell type in a durable and persistent manner, without requiring potentially deleterious genome modification. The described methods and compositions produced by the methods find widespread application in regenerative medicine applications.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for identifying data variable rules during initial data exploration. In one example, a computer-implemented method of determining a role for a data variable is disclosed. The method comprises identifying to a plurality of data nodes a set of data records containing data values assigned to each data node, a maximum number of levels to record in a sorted data structure at the data nodes, and the data node responsible for each of a plurality of variables. The method further comprises receiving for each variable from the data node responsible for the variable a plurality of unique data values for the variable, a count for each of the unique data values and an overflow count for the variable, wherein the number of unique data values does not exceed the maximum number of levels. A role for a variable can be determined based upon the unique data values, counts and overflow count for the variable.

Abstract: The various embodiments herein provide super paramagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (SPIONs). The SPIONs have a plurality of metallic coatings and plurality of polymeric gaps. The embodiments herein also provide a method of synthesizing the SPIONs with metallic rings and polymeric gaps. The metallic coatings form a ring like structure on the outer surface of the SPION. The SPION has a size of 13 nm. The ring has a thickness of 2-3 nm. The rings are one or more in number. The polymeric gaps have a thickness of 3-5 nm. The polymeric gaps are one or more in number. The method involves mixing the SPIONs with a plurality of polymers and then forming a metallic ring on the outer surface of the SPIONs. The SPIONs have anti-bacterial properties and stop a growth of bacterial biofilms. The SPIONs also have SERS properties.

Abstract: A bone plate structure adapted to fix a bone in an affected part is provided. The bone plate structure includes first and second bone plates. The first bone plate has a first stacking portion and a first extending portion and is adapted to be moved onto the bone through a wound of the affected part. The second bone plate has a second stacking portion and a second extending portion and is adapted to be moved onto the bone through the wound. Abstract: Technologies are presented for providing circularly polarized antenna topologies based on multiple bent-dipole elements over a ground plane configuration. In some examples, Moxon based cross radiating elements may be fed through a hybrid 90° quadrature coupler. The radiating element may be widened and tapered relative to a standard bent-dipole configuration forming bow tie structures with approximately 90° bends to achieve broadband operation. The tapered branches may be split into two sub-branches and the bend angle increased to further increase bandwidth and gain of the antenna.
Abstract: A method for mapping of myocardial electric activity includes measuring electrocardiogram data or magnetocardiogram data and mapping the degree of electric activity of a myocardial surface using the electrocardiogram data or the magnetocardiogram data. A signal source of the electrocardiogram data or the magnetocardiogram data is a myocardial surface potential that is scalar quantity. The mapping uses a lead-field vector which represents the sensitivity between the myocardial surface potential and the electrocardiogram or magnetocardiogram data, and a modified lead-field vector which combines a constraint matrix with a constraint condition where no potential sources exist in a specific region.

Abstract: The present invention relates to the novel use (anti-inflammatory activity) of Ramalin isolated from the Antarctic lichen Ramalina terebrata, and more specifically to a pharmaceutical composition containing Ramalin as an active ingredient. Ramalin of the invention is a compound derived from natural material, has no toxicity or side effects, and inhibits the expression of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) in the transcription stage to significantly inhibit the production of nitric oxide (NO) that is a key mediator of inflammatory responses. In addition, it inhibits the activation of the inflammatory mediator NF-?B, inhibits p38 MAPK, ERK1/2 and JNK signaling pathways, and inhibits the expression of the LPS receptor TLR4, suggesting that Ramalin has an excellent anti-inflammatory effect. Thus, the composition containing Ramalin can be effectively used to fundamentally treat or prevent inflammatory diseases or immune diseases and to relieve or alleviate the symptoms of the diseases.
