  • Patent number: 8747519
Abstract: A method selectively recovers a useful substance from waste including a chlorine-containing synthetic resin and metal copper in a mixed state. Metal copper is recovered from coated copper-wire waste. The method includes the steps of heat-treating the waste in form of coated copper wires, each having a coating material made of a chlorine-containing synthetic resin, in oil or under a non-oxygen condition. Here, the coating material is carbonized and a chlorine content of the coating material is reduced. Then the coating material and the copper wire are separated from each other the copper wire is recovered. The chlorine-containing synthetic resin can be treated without generating dioxin.

  • Patent number: 8750016
Abstract: A resistive memory including a transistor and a variable resistor is disclosed. The transistor includes a gate, a source and a drain. The variable resistor is coupled between the drain and a node. During a setting period, the gate receives a first gate voltage, the source receives a first source voltage, the node receives a first drain voltage, and the first source voltage is equal to a grounding voltage. After the setting period, if a resistance value of the variable resistor is not less than a first pre-determined value, a first verification operation is performed. When the first verification operation is being performed, the gate receives a second gate voltage, the node receives a second drain voltage less than the first drain voltage, and the source receives a second source voltage equal to the grounding voltage.

  • Patent number: 8750647
Abstract: Methods and a computer program product for deriving a super-resolution image of a physical object, the super-resolution image characterized by a resolution exceeding a “camera imaging resolution” associated with each of a sequence of lower-resolution images of the physical object. The sequence of images of the physical object is obtained at a plurality of relative displacements with respect to the object. An offset is passively associated with each of the plurality of images to derive effective camera movement, allowing for calculation of a kinetic point spread function on the basis of the effective camera movement. The image sequence is deconvolved, using the kinetic point spread function, to solve for a high-resolution image. Various applications such as portable cameras and infrared imaging for energy conservation are described.

  • Patent number: 8749225
Abstract: The present invention provides a power measurement apparatus and method for a pulsed terahertz quantum-cascade laser (THz QCL). The apparatus includes a light source part, a light path part, and a detection part. Terahertz light emitted by a THz QCL reaches a terahertz quantum-well photodetector (THz QWP) through the measurement apparatus, and is absorbed to generate a corresponding current signal. A signal processing circuit extracts a voltage signal from the current signal, amplifies the voltage signal, and inputs the amplified voltage signal to an oscilloscope for reading and displaying. According to a responsivity of the THz QWP at a lasing frequency of the laser, the measurement of the output power of the pulsed THz QCL is acquired.
