Abstract: Provided are a texture mapping method using a reference image, and a computing apparatus. In detail, a texture mapping method may provide color continuity using a reference image and a target image with respect to each triangular face without analyzing a spatial configuration of a three-dimensional mesh model, thereby reducing a sense of color difference with respect to a texture, and improving quality of the three-dimensional mesh model.

An iontophoresis module may provide for stimulation of a biofluid sample. A biofluid may be a sweat sample. Stimulation may be achieved via electrostimulation and/or application of hydrogel. A microfluidic sweat collection and sample module may include several adhesive layers with carefully designed inlets, channels, a reservoir, and an outlet for the efficiently collection and sampling of biofluid. A MIP sensor module may quickly and accurately identify concentrations of key metabolites present in a biofluid sample which may indicate certain health conditions.

Abstract: A flexible Zn film electrode with ionic and electronic networks has been designed by utilizing ionic liquid based gel polymer as the binder, which can minimize the interface resistance between electrode and electrolytes. Ionic liquid electrolytes are good candidates for high surface area Zn anode due to their good electro(chemical) stability. Ionic liquid based gel polymer electrolytes (GPEs) are good candidates to replace liquid electrolytes or separators in some special applications, like surface coating structure batteries.
Abstract: Disclosed are a temperature measurement method using the fluorescence characteristic of an optical material having temperature dependence and a temperature sensor technology using the same. According to the present disclosure, the temperature measurement technology using the fluorescence signal intensity ratio has a self-compensation function to reduce optical signal noise caused by fluctuations in light source output and optical waveguide loss, and uses two fluorescence signals with a strong fluorescence signal intensity to solve the existing disadvantage of generating a lot of noise due to a low fluorescence signal.

Abstract: Potassium chloride cotransporter-2 (KCC2) plays a critical role in brain function, and deficiency in KCC2 has been linked to neurological diseases, psychiatric disorders, and central nervous system injuries. In particular, Rett syndrome (RTT), a severe neurodevelopmental disorder caused by mutations in the X-linked gene Methyl CpG binding Protein 2 (MECP2), has been linked to deficits in KCC2. The disclosure reports the use of CRISPR/Cas9 genome-editing technology to generate stem cell-derived, genetically defined KCC2 reporter human neurons for large-scale compound screening. This screening platform has been utilized to identify a number of small molecule compounds that are capable of enhancing KCC2 expression in both wild-type and RTT neurons, as well as organotypical brain slices cultured from wild-type mice.

Abstract: A device for monitoring and identifying a mountain torrent and debris flow and a method for early warning of disasters relate to the technical field of debris flow protection. The device includes a computation device, sensors, an amplifier and an analog-to-digital converter. The sensors convert an acquired impact force signal into a digital signal by the amplifier and the analog-to-digital converter, and transmits the digital signal to the computation device. The computation device utilizes the digital signal to compute an energy coefficient of a liquid impact signal and a solid-liquid impact energy ratio, and a debris flow mode is monitored and identified in combination with a threshold range of the energy coefficient and a threshold range of the solid-liquid impact energy ratio. The device identifies the nature of the mountain torrent and debris flow through time-frequency analysis of an impact force signal generated by the debris flow to sensors.

Abstract: A coherent, entangled photon source which uses a continuous wave laser to replace pulsed photon excitation sources in multiphoton nonlinear processes. In various embodiments, the device comprises a continuous wave photon laser creating electromagnetic radiation at a specific frequency and narrow linewidth. The emitted beam may be conditioned by an optical fiber to allow for efficient interaction with a nonlinear crystal. The nonlinear material is designed and fabricated in a specific manner, enabling the quantum mechanical process of a single photon with well-defined energy being converted into two or more photons which display quantum correlations. The nonlinear material and subsequent fiber-optic or free space components control the temporal, spatial, and polarization-related quantum correlations such that the entangled photons can create a signal in multi photon nonlinear processes that is the same or exceeds that of a pulsed photon source but at the average and peak powers of a continuous wave laser.

Abstract: A prosthetic device includes a closed loop system for maintaining a predetermined concentration of a target ion in a region in proximity to a cell, such as a nerve cell. The device includes a controller and an ion-selective electrode assembly operatively connected to the controller, wherein the ion-selective electrode configuration is configured to sense the concentration of the target ion by potentiometric measurement and to convey the concentration to the controller. The controller is configured to modulate the current to the ion-selective electrode assembly based on the concentration of the target ion to control the concentration of the target ion so as to maintain the predetermined concentration of the target ion.
