Abstract: The present invention provides a rare-earth halide scintillating material and application thereof. The rare-earth halide scintillating material has a chemical formula of REaCebX3, wherein RE is a rare-earth element La, Gd, Lu or Y, X is one or two of halogens Cl, Br and I, 0?a?1.1, 0.01?b?1.1, and 1.0001?a+b?1.2. By taking a +2 valent rare-earth halide having the same composition as a dopant to replace a heterogeneous alkaline earth metal halide in the prior art for doping, the rare-earth halide scintillating material is relatively short of a halogen ion. The apparent valence state of a rare-earth ion is between +2 and +3. The rare-earth halide scintillating material belongs to non-stoichiometric compounds, but still retains a crystal structure of an original stoichiometric compound, and has more excellent energy resolution and energy response linearity than the stoichiometric compound.

Abstract: [Mn3SrO4] cluster compounds are synthesized in a single step from raw materials consisting of simple and inexpensive Mn2+, Sr2+ inorganic compounds and carboxylic acids by using permanganate anion as oxidant. This step can be followed by the synthesis of asymmetric biomimetic water splitting catalyst [Mn4SrO4] cluster compounds in the presence of water. The [Mn4SrO4] cluster compound can catalyze the splitting of water in the presence of an oxidant to release oxygen gas. The neutral [Mn3SrO4](R1CO2)6(R1CO2H)3 cluster compound can serve as precursors for the synthesis of biomimetic water splitting catalysts, and can be utilized in the synthesis of different types of biomimetic water splitting catalysts. [Mn4SrO4](R1CO2)8(L1)(L2)(L3)(L4) cluster compounds can serve as artificial water splitting catalysts, can be utilized on the surface of an electrode or in the catalyzed splitting of water driven by an anoxidant.

Abstract: Systems, methods, computer-readable media, techniques, and methodologies are disclosed for performing end-to-end, learning-based keypoint detection and association. A scene graph of a signalized intersection is constructed from an input image of the intersection. The scene graph includes detected keypoints and linkages identified between the keypoints. The scene graph can be used along with a vehicle's localization information to identify which keypoint that represents a traffic signal is associated with the vehicle's current travel lane. An appropriate vehicle action may then be determined based on a transition state of the traffic signal keypoint and trajectory information for the vehicle. A control signal indicative of this vehicle action may then be output to cause an autonomous vehicle, for example, to implement the appropriate vehicle action.

Abstract: An immobilized selenium body, made from carbon and selenium and optionally sulfur, makes selenium more stable, requiring a higher temperature or an increase in kinetic energy for selenium to escape from the immobilized selenium body and enter a gas system, as compared to selenium alone. Immobilized selenium localized in a carbon skeleton can be utilized in a rechargeable battery. Immobilization of the selenium can impart compression stress on both the carbon skeleton and the selenium. Such compression stress enhances the electrical conductivity in the carbon skeleton and among the selenium particles and creates an interface for electrons to be delivered and or harvested in use of the battery. A rechargeable battery made from immobilized selenium can be charged or discharged at a faster rate over conventional batteries and can demonstrate excellent cycling stability.
