On the one hand, the unified silicon-based process is compatible with the existing commercial process, so that it is easy for integration, simple for manufacture, and low in cost; on the other hand, the light modulator (300) is introduced and formed on the silicon substrate by a silicon-based process, which enhances field emission efficiency of the emitter (200), offsets the inconsistency of distances between the tips of the emitters (200) and the collector (400) caused by unevenness of the emitters, and increases the process redundancy of the cold cathode emitter.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for tracking sympathetic-driven arousal state (SDAS) including nociception under anesthesia is described herein. The method includes obtaining heart rate variability and electrodermal activity of a subject. Point process models are generated for the heart rate variability and the electrodermal activity. A multimodal approach is implemented to determine a state space framework based on these point process models. SDAS can be estimated using the state space framework. In some implementations, an anesthesiologist can modify the dosage of drugs administered to the subject based on this estimation.

    Abstract: The Agastache rugosa extract or the isoagastachoside or crude polysaccharide fraction included in the extract according to the present invention can be prepared based on plants being domestically cultivated, and thus is advantageous in terms of time and cost, and can effectively inhibit the differentiation, growth, and bone resorption functions of osteoclast progenitor cells, thus increasing bone density and the like, and accordingly, can be effectively used for the prevention, amelioration, or treatment of diseases related to bone loss caused by differentiation into osteoclasts or excessive activity of osteoclasts. In addition, the active ingredient, which is a plant-derived natural substance, is safe due to fewer side effects on the human body compared to chemical drugs, and inhibits osteoclast progenitor cells independently of estrogen, and thus can be widely used in osteoporosis occurring due to various causes other than menopause.

    Abstract: A nanocarbon immobilized membrane (NCIM) is disclosed. The nanocarbon immobilized membrane is sized to purify different organic-water mixtures. The nanocarbon immobilized membrane can be used to purify solvents, fuels, and other organic compounds. Data using heptane-water, octane-water, fuel-water, and paint thinner-water show 99.9% separation efficiency. High organic flux is also seen at relatively low pressure. This approach has numerous applications, including fuel purification, oil spills clean-up, separation of commercial emulsions, and solvent purification.
