Abstract: A Unified Speech and Audio Codec (USAC) that may process a window sequence based on mode switching is provided. The USAC may perform encoding or decoding by overlapping between frames based on a folding point when mode switching occurs. The USAC may process different window sequences for each situation to perform encoding or decoding, and thereby may improve a coding efficiency.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a system for cancelling interference in a full-duplex wireline communication link. The communication link has a transceiver at each end and configured to transmit a signal and receive a signal. The transceiver comprises: a self-interference (SI) canceller module configured to subtract self-interference of the signal transmitted by the transceiver from the signal received by the same transceiver in analog domain; and an echo canceller module configured to subtract reflected version of the signal transmitted by the transceiver from the signal received by the same transceiver in analog domain.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to use of a lectin receptor-like kinase LecRK-IX.1 as a protein for regulating insect resistance of Arabidopsis thaliana. A. thaliana with high resistance to Bemisia tabaci can be cultivated by reducing the expression of, or knocking out, an encoding gene of the protein. Therefore, Arabidopsis thaliana with the high-level resistance to Bemisia tabaci can be cultivated. The gene and its encoded protein can be applied to plant genetic improvement.

Abstract: The invention provides a new class of synthetic sequence-defined polymer (SDP) and a method of synthesizing the same. The synthetic sequence-defined polymers have dithiocarbamate incorporated to the backbone. The method introduces a functional group dithiocarbamate in the backbone by using a new support-free, protection-deprotection free three-component reaction strategy. Dithiocarbamate-SDP is prepared from a unique bifunctional monomer, CS2 and chloroacetyl chloride. Chloracetyl chloride is used as a co-monomer. Different functional groups may be introduced in the dithiocarbamate-SDP via custom synthesis of monomers with the desired functional group, using the method disclosed. The SDPs may undergo modular post-synthetic modification through multiple paths. SDP is produced in multi-gram scale at low cost and in an eco-friendly manner through the method. No hazardous waste is produced in the process as HCl gas released from the reaction may be neutralized by bicarbonate in the medium.

Abstract: Described are concepts, systems, devices and methods that enhance decoding performance of channels subject to correlated noise. The concepts, systems, devices and methods can be used with any combination of codes, code-rates and decoding techniques. In embodiments, a continuous realization of effective noise is estimated from a lead channel by subtracting its decoded output from its received signal. This estimate is then used to improve the accuracy of decoding of an otherwise orthogonal channel that is experiencing correlated effective noise. In this approach, channels aid each other through the post-decoding provision of estimates of effective noise. In some embodiments, the lead channel is not pre-determined, but is chosen dynamically based on which of a plurality of decoders completes first, or using soft information including an estimate of effective noise that is least energetic or most likely to have occurred.
