Abstract: Disclosed are a composition for clearing spheroids, a method for clearing spheroids using same, and a kit comprising same. The composition for clearing spheroids can clear the spheroids in a convenient and rapid manner and thus may be usefully used for imaging of spheroids and in identifying the causes of various diseases, treating the diseases, and predicting the therapeutic effects and toxicity of drugs. In addition, the composition may be used in combination with various medical devices, and in particular, can be prepared as a kit and usefully used as an in vitro medical diagnostic device.

Abstract: Some examples describes herein relate to handling bulk requests for resources. In one example, a system can determine a bulk request parameter-value associated with a bulk request. The system can then predict a baseline benefit value, which can be a benefit value when the bulk request parameter-value is used as a lower boundary for a unit parameter-value. The system can also determine a lower boundary constraint on the unit parameter-value independently of the bulk request parameter-value. The system can then execute an iterative process using the baseline benefit value and the lower boundary constraint. Based on a result of the iterative process, the system can determine whether and how much the bulk request parameter-value should be adjusted. The system may adjust the bulk request parameter-value accordingly or output a recommendation to do so.
Abstract: Exemplary embodiments of method and apparatus are provided for resurfacing of skin that includes formation of a plurality of small holes, e.g., having widths less than about 1 mm or 0.5 mm, using a mechanical apparatus, thus avoiding generation of thermal damage as occurs with conventional laser resurfacing procedures and devices. The holes formed can be well-tolerated by the skin, and can exhibit shorter healing times and less swelling than conventional resurfacing procedures. The apparatus includes one or more needles adapted to remove a small portion of tissue when inserted into and withdrawn from the skin. The fractional surface coverage of the holes can be between about 0.1 and 0.7, or between about 0.2 and 0.5. The exemplary method and apparatus can produce cosmetic effects such as increases in collagen content, epidermal thickness, and dermal/epidermal junction undulations in the skin.

Abstract: A threat detection apparatus and a threat detection method thereof for a wireless communication system are provided. The threat detection apparatus receives an observed time difference of arrival (OTDOA) message for positioning a user equipment (UE) from a serving base station (BS), and determines that the UE connects to a false BS when the identity of the serving BS is not on the identity list. If the identity of the serving BS is on the identity list, the threat detection apparatus calculates a first distance according to the measurement report message transmitted from the UE, and calculates a second distance between the UE and the serving BS according to the OTDOA message. When the difference between the first distance and the second distance is larger than a threshold, the threat detection apparatus determines that the UE connects to the false BS.
Abstract: A method for inter-blockchain communication, comprising: receiving from a sender node in a sender blockchain a data message for transmission to a receiver node in a receiver blockchain; encrypt and encapsulate by an encryption module the data message into an event, wherein the event comprising an exposed header containing information for routing the event through the blockchains and identifying the sender and the receiver nodes; broadcasting the event to a communication bridge comprising multiple bridge nodes; transferring the event through the bridge nodes to an event exchange module of the receiver blockchain; validating the event by a validation module; decrypting and decapsulating the validated event by a decryption module into a decrypted data message; and recording the decrypted data message into the receiver blockchain ledger for reading by the receiver node. The multiple bridge nodes ensure redundancy for the reliable delivery of events in the inter-blockchain communication.

The chemical components of the formula of the described culture medium are clear, no serum is present, and various components thereof cooperate with each other to synergize. The culture medium is used for the long-term expansion and cultivation of liver progenitor cells in vitro and is used for maintaining the dryness thereof, is beneficial in quickly and efficiently obtaining a large number of functional liver cells, and is suitable for clinical hepatocyte transplantation application as well as for the use of hepatocyte reactors in bioartificial livers.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a concrete structure strengthened using a grid reinforcement material and non-shrink grout and a method of strengthening the same in which, when strengthening a concrete structure such as a concrete slab or a concrete wall body that is damaged or deteriorated, a grid reinforcement material is mounted on one side of the concrete structure, a formwork is formed on an outer side of the grid reinforcement material to have a required gap, and then the gap is filled with non-shrink grout so that the non-shrink grout is cured therein to strengthen the old concrete structure, thereby being able to automatically fill and repair cracks formed in the concrete structure just by injecting the non-shrink grout without separately performing crack repair on the old concrete structure.
