Publication number: 20210121062Abstract: A physician prescribes an ocular imaging unit to a patient, which the patient sets up in the home to self-monitor his/her ocular anatomy. Typically, the unit connects to a smartphone, and the patient can use an app to operate the system. When the patient experiences a problem with his/her eyes, the patient initiates a remote evaluation, and the system transmits an alert to a remotely located physician, signifying the need for a pre-diagnostic evaluation. The physician then performs an initial evaluation remotely over the Internet using the home ocular imaging unit to obtain images or live video of the patient's ocular anatomy. The physician remotely makes a pre-diagnostic assessment regarding whether an in-person diagnostic examination of the ocular anatomy is warranted, and then communicates this to the patient. In some cases, the imaging unit captures images, both of the retinas and exteriors of the eyes, and also performs vision tests.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 26, 2020Publication date: April 29, 2021Applicant: Sanovas Intellectual Property, LLCInventor: Jerry Katzman

Patent number: 10992734Abstract: Novel tools and techniques might provide for implementing remote application access, and, in some cases, by instantiating an application or service close to the intended recipient or user of the application or service, from a networking perspective. A network might provide connectivity between a first computer and a second computer. A file (comprising an application and data) might be transmitted, over the network, from the first computer. A node in the network, which might be on a path between the first and second computers, might determine that the file contains the application and the data, and, based on such determination, might capture the file (before the second computer can receive it). An instance of the application might be instantiated on a compute surface in the network as a service for the second computer, such that the compute surface can operate on the data with the instance of the application.Type: GrantFiled: February 28, 2019Date of Patent: April 27, 2021Assignee: CenturyLink Intellectual Property LLCInventors: Charles I. Patent number: 10974598Abstract: In general, the subject matter described in this disclosure can be embodied in methods, systems, and program products for performing vehicle control. Multiple target rotation rates for a vehicle shaft may be identified. A first actual rotation rate may be determined to exceed a first target rotation rate. In response, a computing system may send a first signal in order to cause a first component of a vehicle to limit the rate of rotation of the vehicle shaft. A second actual rotation rate may be determined to be below a second target rotation rate. In response, the computing system may send a second signal in order to cause the first component of the vehicle or a second component of the vehicle to increase the rate of rotation of the vehicle shaft.Type: GrantFiled: October 15, 2018Date of Patent: April 13, 2021Assignee: Davis Intellectual Properties LLCInventor: Shannon R. Patent number: 10968326Abstract: Minimum Federal Safety Standards for corrosion control on buried oil & gas pipelines stipulate that metallic pipes should be properly coated and have impressed-current cathodic protection (ICCP) systems in place to control the electrical potential field around a protected pipe. In certain examples described herein, electrically-conductive composites can be used and provide intrinsically-safe materials without the dielectric shielding issues of existing materials used with pipelines. As reacted by customary spray applications, the nanocomposite foams described herein are directly compatible with ICCP functionality wherever foam contacts the metallic pipe. Various compositions and their use with underground and/or above ground pipelines are described.Type: GrantFiled: April 14, 2019Date of Patent: April 6, 2021Assignee: Phillips Intellectual Properties, LLCInventor: Alan D Phillips

Patent number: 10944748Abstract: Novel tools and techniques might provide for implementing application, service, and/or content access control. Based at least in part on a consumer's choice of applications, services, content, and/or content providers—particular in exchange for a subsidy on content and/or network access fees provided to the consumer by chosen content providers—, a computing system may determine whether access to applications, services, and/or content not associated with the chosen content providers (“other content”) should be allowed or restricted. If restricted, the computing system might utilize various network access techniques and/or technologies to block the consumer's access to the other content, to allow access to the other content on a charge per access basis, or to allow access to the other content at reduced network access speeds. In some embodiments, an access provider (e.g., an Internet service provider, etc.) might perform both determination and implementation of content access and restriction.Type: GrantFiled: March 19, 2018Date of Patent: March 9, 2021Assignee: CenturyLink Intellectual Property LLCInventors: Michael J.
