Abstract: Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing an enclosure for protecting at least one connector of a cable. In some embodiments, an enclosure comprises an enclosure housing. The enclosure housing includes a first part and a second part. The first part of the enclosure housing is attached to the second part of the enclosure housing. The first part of the enclosure housing and the second part of the enclosure housing together define a chamber to fully enclose a connector assembly and a connector housing the at least one connector of the cable. The enclosure includes at least one opening disposed at a first end of the enclosure housing. The at least one opening is configured to allow a boot of the at least one connector or the cable of the at least one connector to extend through the at least one opening.

Abstract: Remote on-demand site link testing is provided. A site link tester (SLT) system includes an SLT connected to a customer's VoIP phone system. The SLT is configured to communicate with a front end client application operating remotely on a user's computing device. The packet-capture application receives instructions from the client application to perform a packet capture in association with the SLT's network interface and/or to operate as an emulated VoIP endpoint and conduct a test call (e.g., to confirm the customer's VoIP system's compliance with 911-associated legislation or to troubleshoot a VoIP issue). Results of the packet capture may be sent to the client application and analyzed for remotely diagnosing and troubleshooting VoIP-related problems. Using the SLT system, the technician is enabled to perform 911-associated legislation compliance and diagnose VoIP issues on-demand from a remote location, which can reduce or eliminate the need for a technician to be on-site.

Abstract: A heavy hybrid truck is powered by a non-electric powered medium and an electric powered axle. The electric powered axle assists the non-electric powered medium when load changes are detected. The electric powered axle is sourced by a rechargeable battery. The non-electric powered medium is either a fossil fuel combustion engine, a biofuel engine, a hydrogen engine, or a combination.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for echoing media via a mobile device are disclosed herein. According to an embodiment, the method can include displaying automatically to a user, on the mobile device, a list of one or more respective identifiers of one or more other users experiencing respective media within a selectable geographic area. The user is then allowed to select whether to play one or more of the respective media on the mobile device, and can connect with the one or more other users via a social networking site. As a result, the user can network with previously unknown people, based on a common taste in music or other media, for example, as well as a geographic location.

Abstract: A method of producing advanced carbon materials can include extracting a coal sample from a location, performing a spectral analysis on the coal sample, determining one or more desired advanced carbon materials based at least in part on spectral analysis, extracting an amount of coal from the location, beneficiating the amount of coal, and processing the beneficiated amount of coal to produce the one or more desired advanced carbon materials from at least some of the amount of coal.

Abstract: Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing configuration data and settings on customer premises equipment (“CPE”), and, more particularly, for implementing storage, retrieval, and transfer of configuration data and settings associated with a user and/or a customer premises on CPE. In operation, CPE might set and store one or more configuration settings associated with a user and/or a customer premises. Next, a first CPE might receive a request to set the one or more configuration settings associated with the user or the customer premises on the first CPE or on a second CPE. Based on the request received, the CPE might retrieve from storage and set the one or more configuration settings associated with the user or the customer premises on the first CPE or on the second CPE.

Abstract: Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing voice monitoring and tracking, and, more particularly, to methods, systems, and apparatuses for implementing voice monitoring and tracking of participants in group settings. In various embodiments, a computing system might receive, from at least one audio sensor among the one or more audio sensors disposed within the first space, voice signals corresponding to voices associated with individuals present within the first space. The computing system might analyze the received voice signals to identify one or more individuals who are present within the first space. The computing system might present, within a user interface of the user device associated with the user, information regarding the identified one or more individuals to assist the user in coordinating discussions among the individuals present within the first space.

Abstract: Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing error detection in a network, and, more particularly, to methods, systems, and apparatuses for implementing error and/or fault detection in a network and/or media stream and providing options to address the error and/or fault in the network and/or media stream. In various embodiments, a computer might detect an error in a first network and send a notification indicating that the error has occurred. The notification might contain one or more options to address the error in the first network. The computer, a user device, a service provider device, or a content provider device might receive and display the notification containing the one or more options. The computer, the user device, the service provider device, or the content provider device might then select at least one of the one or more options to address the error in the first network.

Abstract: Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing network application programming interface (“API”), and, more particularly, API to provide network metrics and network resource control to users. In some embodiments, a computing system might receive customer network telemetry data from a first network via a gateway API, might receive service provider network telemetry data from a second network(s) via a network API, might compile the customer network telemetry data and the service provider network telemetry data, might receive a request from a user to access information regarding network services associated with the user, might filter the compiled customer network telemetry data and the compiled service provider network telemetry data to isolate first telemetry data and second telemetry data, respectively, might provide the user with access to at least one of the first telemetry data or the second telemetry data, and might provide the user with options to control network resources.

Abstract: A method of producing advanced carbon materials can include providing coal to a processing facility, beneficiating the coal to remove impurities from the coal, processing the beneficiated coal to produce a pitch, and treating the pitch to produce an advanced carbon material such as carbon fibers, carbon nanotubes, graphene, carbon fibers, polymers, biomaterials, or other carbon materials.

Abstract: A method of producing at least one or more resins is disclosed. The method includes providing an amount of raw coal. The raw coal includes one or more impurities therein. The method also includes beneficiating the amount of raw coal to selectively removing at least a portion of some of the one or more impurities in the raw coal to form beneficiated coal. Additionally, the method includes processing the beneficiated coal to produce an amount of pitch. The method further includes modifying at least some of the pitch to produce the one or more resins. The one or more resins include a selected amount of a remainder of the one or more impurities that were not removed while beneficiating the amount of the raw coal, processing the beneficiated coal, and modifying at least some of the pitch.

Abstract: Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing network experience shifting, and, in particular embodiments, using either a roaming or portable hypervisor associated with a user or a local hypervisor unassociated with the user. In some embodiments, a network node in a first network might receive, via a first network access device in a second network, a request from a user device to establish roaming network access, and might authenticate a user associated with the user device, the user being unassociated with the first network access device. Based on a determination that the user is authorized to access data, content, profiles, and/or software applications that are accessible via a second network access device, the network node might establish a secure private connection through a hypervisor or container communicatively coupled to the first network access device to provide the user with access to her data, content, profiles, and/or software applications.

Abstract: Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing routing of network traffic across one or more network nodes or utilization of the one or more network nodes based on one or more demand classifications and/or based on detection of a trigger event associated with the one or more demand classifications. In some embodiment, a computing system might monitor network traffic across one or more network nodes or utilization of the one or more network nodes, the network traffic being routed based on a first demand classification. The computing system might determine whether at least one trigger event associated with a second demand classification has occurred. If so, the computing system might adjust the routing of the network traffic across the one or more network nodes or adjust the utilization of the one or more network nodes, based at least in part on the second demand classification.

Abstract: Novel tools and techniques for are provided for implementing a hybrid spectrum access system and access probe framework. A system includes a base station coupled to a network, a spectrum access system, and user equipment coupled to the base station and the spectrum access system. The user equipment is configured to transmit, to the base station, a first network access request following a first access sequence while transmitting signals under a first power limit. If no response is obtained from the base station, the user equipment is configured to transmit a second network access request above the first power limit, but under a second power limit. The user equipment is configured to obtain spectrum access from the spectrum access system and transmit a second network access request to the base station.

Abstract: Novel tools and techniques for filtering network traffic in an anycasting environment includes receiving network traffic addressed to a plurality of anycasted servers at an edge router, the plurality of anycasted servers comprising one or more anycasted servers. The network traffic is received from the edge server at least one data scrubbing appliance. The at least one data scrubbing appliance filters out undesirable traffic from the network traffic. The at least one data scrubbing appliance “on-ramps” the filtered network traffic to the plurality of anycasted servers. The filtered network traffic is transmitted to the plurality of anycasted servers in a load balanced manner.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method of manufacturing an improved cover board product with a panel. In some embodiments, the method includes preparing fragments into an assembly; mixing the fragments and an adhesive into a blended core furnish; applying the adhesive to a top side of a bottom layer fabric in the assembly; forming a core mat of the blended core furnish on top of the adhesive; applying the adhesive to a top side of the core mat; applying a surface layer fabric on the top side of the adhesive; pressing the assembly; and cutting and trimming the assembly to form panels.

Abstract: A location connector connects a first tubular to a second tubular, and includes a cylindrical main body extending in a longitudinal direction. An outer surface extends around a circumference of the main body, and an inner surface faces the central bore of the main body. A first connector is on a first end of the main body and is configured to attach to the first tubular. A second connector on an opposite second end of the main body is configured to attach to the second tubular. A female profile is provided on the inner surface, and includes a plurality of grooves for selective engagement with a discrete complementary profile comprising one or more protruding members of a downhole tool. Each of the grooves comprises a no-go shoulder that prevents movement of the tool in one direction, and each of the grooves permits clocking movement of the tool in an azimuthal direction.

Abstract: A lubricant formulation which is effective to remove or prevent carbon deposits in internal combustion engines has a solvency as defined by aniline point from about 20 to about 115, a volatility (as measured by NOACK) of less than 15%, an oxidative stability (as measured by PDSC) of above 40 minutes and a base oil viscosity of above 2 and below 10 cSt. The lubricant formulation can be formed from a blend of Group III, IV and V lubricants, in particularly polyalphaolefins, alkylated naphthalenes and polar Group V base stocks such as polyol esters. The carbon deposits can be removed from the engine piston by simply running the engine with the lubricant for one required cycle, or can be used continuously in the engine to prevent buildup.

Abstract: A degradable plug device for a pipe has an outer plug body and an inner plug for preventing fluid flow through the pipe until the inner plug has been removed from the outer plug body. The outer plug body and the inner plug are of a degradable material. The inner plug has a chamber with at least one port to the exterior of the inner plug. The exposed surfaces of the degradable plug have a protective layer thereon. The inner plug is disposable in at least a first position, in which the inner plug prevents the fluid flow through the pipe. The inner plug is adapted to undergo, in use, a degradation initiation operation such that fluid is able to enter the chamber via the at least one port to initiate corrosion or dissolution of the inner plug from inside the chamber.

Abstract: Novel tools and techniques might provide for implementing combined broadband and wireless self-organizing network (“SON”) for provisioning of services. In some embodiments, a computing system might receive, from one or more first sensors and one or more second sensors, first operational states of fixed broadband network nodes and second operational states of wireless network nodes, respectively. The computing system might analyze the received first and second operational states, might determine an optimal network pathway and/or an optimal network backhaul pathway, and might establish the optimal network pathway and/or the optimal network backhaul pathway, through a determined combination of fixed and wireless network nodes, thereby implementing the combined broadband and wireless self-organizing network (“SON”) for provisioning of services.
