  • Patent number: 10834515
Abstract: A television and a home cinema device work together in various embodiments to render an audio signal including at least a left channel, a right channel and a center channel. The left and right channels are rendered by left and right speakers coupled to the home cinema device, while the center channel is rendered by the left and right speakers of the television. The television can receive the audio signal, decode and render the center channel and send the audio, possibly reencoded left and right channels, to the home cinema device. The television can also send the audio to the home cinema device the returns the, possibly reencoded, center channel for rendering on the television. Alternatively, the home cinema device can receive the audio signal and provide the possibly reencoded center channel to the television. In an alternative, the center channel can be rendered by a soundbar coupled to the television.

  • Patent number: 10832382
Abstract: The disclosure concerns a method for filtering spurious pixels in a depth-map. It is important to filter a depth-map to remove the spurious pixels. One issue when filtering spurious pixels, is to remove them while preserving the boundaries of the real details of the depth-map. A known approach to filter spurious pixels is to use a bi-lateral filter. However, the bi-lateral filter is not efficient to remove the spurious pixels. The proposed solution enables to remove spurious pixels in a depth-map while preserving the sharp edges of the depth-map and smoothing faint details or noise.

  • Patent number: 10825249
Abstract: In order to blur a virtual object in a video in real time as the video is acquired by a device capturing a real scene, a salient idea is used which estimates an apparent motion vector between two successive images, being captured at two successive device poses, in which the apparent motion vector estimation is based on a motion of the device. The successive images are then filtered based on the estimated apparent motion vector.

  • Patent number: 10818020
Abstract: The present invention generally relates to an apparatus and a method for obtaining a registration error map representing a level of sharpness of an image. Many methods are known which allow determining the position of a camera with respect to an object, based on the knowledge of a 3D model of the object and the intrinsic parameters of the camera. However, regardless of the visual servoing technique used, there is no control in the image space and the object may get out of the camera field of view during servoing. It is proposed to obtain a registration error map relating to an image of the object of interest generated by computing an intersection of a re-focusing surface obtained from a 3D model of said object of interest and a focal stack based on acquired four-dimensional light-field data relating to said object of interest.

  • Patent number: 10791314
Abstract: A particular implementation accesses a disparity value for a particular location in a picture, the disparity value indicating disparity with respect to a particular resolution. The particular implementation modifies the accessed disparity value based on multiple resolutions to produce a modified disparity value. Another implementation accesses a disparity value for a particular location in a picture, the picture having a particular resolution, and the disparity value indicating disparity with respect to another resolution that is different from the particular resolution and that is based on multiple resolutions. A further implementation modifies the accessed disparity value to produce a modified disparity value indicating disparity with respect to the particular resolution.

  • Patent number: 10762612
Abstract: There are several types of plenoptic devices and camera arrays available on the market, and all these light field acquisition devices have their proprietary file format. However, there is no standard supporting the acquisition and transmission of multi-dimensional information. It is interesting to obtain information related to a correspondence between pixels of a sensor of said optical acquisition system and an object space of said optical acquisition system. Indeed, knowing which portion of the object space of an optical acquisition system a pixel belonging to the sensor of said optical acquisition system is sensing enables the improvement of signal processing operations. The notion of pixel beam, which represents a volume occupied by a set of rays of light in an object space of an optical system of a camera along with a compact format for storing such information is thus introduce.

  • Patent number: 10757390
Abstract: In one embodiment, it is proposed a method for obtaining at least one sub-aperture image being associated with one view, from raw light field data corresponding to recorded data by an array of pixels sensors positioned behind an array of micro-lenses in a light field camera, each of said pixel sensor recording a linear mixing of up to four different views. The method is remarkable in that it comprises applying a signal separation process on said raw data by using an inverse of a mixing matrix A, said mixing matrix comprising coefficients that convey weighting information of said up to four different views recorded by a pixel sensor.

  • Patent number: 10748321
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods, apparatus or systems for inciting a user consuming an immersive content to rotate the immersive rendering device in the direction of a region of interest. According to the present principles, an object representative of a character is inserted in the field of view of the user. The character is computed in a way it looks in the direction of the region of interest from its location in the immersive content. In addition, face and body attitude of the character may reflect an emotion that is associated with the region of interest, for example scare, happiness or interest. The user will naturally be incited at looking in the direction indicated by the inserted character.
