Abstract: An automobile having a cargo space, a rear door opening for accessing the cargo space and a door pillar which delimits the rear door opening. The vehicle has a rack which in a stowed state is arranged entirely in the cargo space and is at least partially concealed by the door pillar as viewed from outside the automobile in the direction of the vehicle longitudinal axis of the automobile, and in a deployed state is arranged at least partially outside the cargo space. The vehicle has a transfer mechanism to transfer the rack between the stowed state and the deployed state via the rear door opening, wherein the transfer mechanism is configured such that, during a transfer of the rack from the stowed state into the deployed state, the rack moves inward in the direction of the vehicle transverse axis of the automobile.

Abstract: An audio system receives sounds from a local area with a set of sensors. The audio system analyzes the sounds to identify an amount of background noise in the environment. The audio system may also identify target sound in the environment, such as voice from a nearby speaker, to reinforce. The amount of background noise is then used to adaptively set a level of reinforcement for the target sound. In low-noise environments, the target sound may be minimally, or not reinforced, while in high-noise environments a reinforcement sound signal may be generated with the target sound so that a transducer array may generate reinforcing sounds for the target sound and increase its contrast with the noise in the environment. By applying the reinforcement dynamically, the system automatically adjusts for different sounds and environments.
Abstract: Systems and methods disclosed herein provide for reduced power composition during data read operations from memory devices through gating of clock signals based on a bit pattern of data to be read from the memory device. Example devices and methods disclosed herein comprise receiving a command to read data from a memory structure of the memory device and latching a bit pattern of the data from the memory structure to a data register based on the received command. The disclose systems and methods use the bit pattern to generate a clock mask according to similarities between bit values within the bit pattern. When a read enable signal is detected on a read enable interface of the embodiments disclosed herein, the clock mask is gated based on the clock mask, and bit values are latched to an input/output interface of the memory device in accordance with the gated read enable signal.
Abstract: A system includes a processor and a memory. The memory includes instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to perform operations including perform a remote maneuver of a vehicle, and instruct a mobile device to provide a feedback to an individual.

Abstract: An infrared detection camera for the inspection of coated substrates. A corrosion sensing instrument is handheld, portable, battery powered, compact and lightweight. The camera performs nondestructive, real time imaging of corrosion and defects beneath painted metal or plastics or composite surfaces. The device includes a user-friendly computer interface for real time imaging and image storage capability and is typically used for detecting early stage corrosion beneath painted aircraft aluminum surfaces. The handheld device has a front “open air” imaging port which is designed to be placed in soft contact against the painted surface to be inspected by the instrument. The device includes an infrared camera and infrared lighting to capture an image of the surface. The captured image is transferred to a computer and analyzed to locate imperfections below a coating on a surface.

Abstract: A waveguide display system include a waveguide, an input coupler configured to couple display light into the waveguide, a first pupil expander, and a second pupil expander. The first pupil expander is configured to deflect, at a first plurality of locations along a first direction, the display light towards the second pupil expander. The second pupil expander is configured to deflect, at a second plurality of locations along a second direction different from the first direction, the display light from the first pupil expander towards an eyebox of the waveguide display system. At least one of the input coupler, the first pupil expander, or the second pupil expander includes transflective mirrors that are tilted within the waveguide such that the transflective mirrors are inconspicuous when viewed from an oblique angle.
Abstract: A combustor for a gas turbine system includes a combustion liner including a primary combustion zone and a secondary combustion zone. The combustor body is additively manufactured and made of a first material. The combustor also includes axial fuel stage (AFS) immersed injectors extending radially into the combustion liner in the secondary combustion zone. Each AFS immersed injector extends through an opening in the combustion liner and is additively manufactured with a second material different than the first material. A coupler fixes each AFS immersed injector in a respective opening in the combustion liner. The additive manufacturing results in as much as a 70% reduction in parts within a given combustor and allows use of high temperature and high oxidation tolerant, hot gas path (HGP) materials for the AFS immersed injectors.
