Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling operations of a Computer System (“CS”). The methods comprise: collecting information about events occurring in CS; performing automated ontogenesis operations using the collected information to determine a context of a given situation associated with CS using stored ontogenetic knowledge, define parameters for different sets of actions that could occur in the context of the given situation, simulate the sets of actions to generate a set of simulation results defining predicted consequences resulting from the performance of certain behaviors by nodes of CS, select a best simulation result from the set of simulation results, and determine whether a system action specified by the best simulation result might cause an undesirable unintended consequence; and using the parameters associated with the best simulation result to optimize control and performance of CS, when a determination is made that the system action will not cause the undesirable unintended consequence.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described for performing a diagnostic on an exhaust gas aftertreatment system. A gas entry parameter into a portion of an exhaust system of an engine is determined. In response to determining that the gas entry parameter is less than the predetermined threshold, a level of NH3 in the exhaust gas is determined. In response to determining that the level of NH3 is above a threshold value, degradation of a particulate filter of the exhaust gas aftertreatment system is indicated.

Abstract: A method and a device used for remote control by optical fiber signals and power over Ethernet includes a power sourcing equipment (PSE) outputting a direct current (DC) via at least one network cable to at least one powered device (PD). When the PSE receives a second restarting signal from a signal controller, the PSE stops supplying power to the at least one PD. An optoelectric signal converter converts an optical signal from an Ethernet Switch to a digital signal for the signal controller. When the optical signal is determined by the signal controller to be interrupted after a first time duration passes, the signal controller outputs the second restarting signal to the PSE for restarting. After restarting, the PSE re-powers the at least one PD. The at least one PD is restarted remotely without requiring working personnel at the location of the at least one PD, improving restarting efficiency.
Abstract: An optical isolator has a first optical property with respect to transmitted components of the light traveling towards a target and a second optical property with respect to reflected components of the light traveling towards the laser. The second optical property suppresses the reflected components of the light. The optical isolator can be used in applications such as heat-assisted magnetic recording and LIDAR.
Abstract: A data map is modeled to generate a modeled data map, the data map including a calibration to control vehicle operation over various weather conditions encountered by a vehicle, the modeled data map characterizing data elements of the data map according to a mathematical model. The modeled data map is sent to the vehicle to expand into at least a portion of the data map to control the vehicle operation.
Abstract: A turbocharger control method and related systems are provided. An operational command to control a level of boost provided by the turbocharger is received. In response to receiving the operational command, an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve is instructed to move from a current position to a desired position. A time taken for the EGR valve to move from the current position to the desired position is determined. A maximum rise rate of exhaust manifold pressure corresponding to a predicted EGR valve position is determined. A permitted exhaust manifold pressure limit for the turbocharger is determined based on a current exhaust manifold pressure, the maximum rise rate of exhaust manifold pressure and the time taken. An operation of the turbocharger is controlled such that the permitted exhaust manifold pressure limit is not exceeded.

Abstract: An autonomous vehicle (AV) system includes an AV control system that resolves unique situations encountered while operating as a ride hail provider. The AV control system includes an artificial intelligence (AI) agent programmed to receive a situation data set as an input from vehicle sensors or from another AI agent. The situation data set can include a generic representation of information describing and characterizing the circumstances and details of the current situation. The system may access a knowledge library having catalogued prior situation data sets that describe situations encountered by the AV or other vehicles in a fleet. The AV control system may search the knowledge library for a similar situation encountered by a fleet vehicle. Once a similar situation is identified, the AV control system may identify one or more remedies that were executed to handle the prior situation, and execute the remedy to address the current situation.
