Abstract: A trailer sideswipe avoidance system for a vehicle towing a trailer is provided herein. The trailer sideswipe avoidance system includes a sensor system configured to detect objects in an operating environment of the vehicle. A controller receiving inputs from the sensor system is configured to determine a travel path of the towed trailer as the vehicle turns, determine whether an object detected in the operating environment of the vehicle is in the travel path of the towed trailer, determine a time until sideswiping of the object with the towed trailer, compare the time until sideswiping with a threshold time value, and prompt one or more vehicle systems to execute a sideswipe avoidance measure when the time until sideswiping is less than the threshold time value.

Abstract: A wearable device and system for detecting data generated by a user's contact with a surface and using that data to determine that a user contacted the surface and, in some examples, the location of the contact. The location of the contact may then be used by another device, such as an artificial reality headset, to select a user interface element, activate a function or perform a task in an artificial reality environment, or execute another type of function typically performed in response to an input to a user interface. In one example, the wearable device includes an ultrasound transmitter (Tx) and an ultrasound receiver (Rx). Abstract: Apparatuses and techniques are described for performing an erase operation for a set of memory cells, where the erase operation applies a staircase or multi-level word line voltage concurrent with a fixed level erase pulse to provide multiple channel-to-gate voltages. Current consumption and time are saved compared to applying a multi-level erase voltage to a high capacitance substrate, for example. In one approach, the word line voltage is changed from a positive erase-enable voltage to a negative erase-enable voltage during the multi-level erase pulse. A step size of a next erase pulse can be set to achieve an approximately constant step increase in channel-to-gate voltages of the memory cells.
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a cooling system for a system, such as an electric power assisted steering (EPAS) system and the components of such system, such as a motor. The cooling system includes a temperature sensor coupled to an electric motor of the EPAS system, one or more fluid reservoirs, and a fluid transfer device coupled to the motor and to the first fluid reservoirs. The fluid transfer device extends along a length of the motor. The cooling system further includes a pump coupled to the fluid reservoir and the fluid transfer device, a control unit coupled to the sensor and the pump. The control unit is configured to activate the pump in response to temperature detected by the sensor being greater than or equal to a first threshold motor temperature. The pump transfers the fluid in the fluid reservoirs to the fluid transfer device for absorbing the heat of the motor. The fluid transfer device is configured to contain the transferred fluid.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided herein for a dust box cleanout routine of an evaporative emissions control (EVAP) system of a vehicle. In one example, a method is provided for an engine of a vehicle, comprising, during travel on an unpaved road, selectively discharging a dust box housed in a vent line of an evaporative emissions control (EVAP) system by opening a discharge valve of the dust box leading to atmosphere. In this way, an accumulation of dust on the air filter and in the dust box of the EVAP system may be reduced, thereby maintaining an efficiency of the EVAP system.
Abstract: Aspects and techniques of the present disclosure relate to a cable sealing structure comprising a cable sealing body including a gel and methods of making anisotropic behavior in cable sealing structures made with a dry silicone gel. In one aspect, various three-dimensional printing techniques are used to make a cable sealing structure that includes a gel. The cable sealing body has a construction that elastically deforms to apply an elastic spring load to the gel. The cable sealing body has a construction with anisotropic deformation characteristics that allows the cable sealing body to be less deformable in one direction than in others. The cable sealing structure can be utilized to seal fiber optic cables more uniformly while limiting the potential of leakage.
