Abstract: A removable real time clock battery (“RRTCB”) assembly is disclosed herein. The RRTCB assembly has an outer housing removably mounted in a port of a downhole tool. The outer housing is adapted to receive at least a portion of an inner housing. The inner housing has a cavity therein and is mounted in the port of the downhole tool. The inner housing is removably disposed within the outer housing. A real time clock battery is removably disposed in the cavity of the inner housing. The real time clock battery electrically connects to a clock disposed within the downhole tool. The RRTCB assembly can be readily removed from the downhole tool or bottomhole assembly (while at the earth's surface) without otherwise disassembling the downhole tool. The real time clock battery can then be removed and replaced or installed if not present.

Abstract: A vehicle seat assembly includes a seatback rotationally coupled to a base at a seat pivot. A securing pin is coupled with the seatback. An inertial latch is operable about a latch pivot to define an idle position defined by the inertial latch biased distal from the securing pin, and a deployed position defined by an opposing directional force biasing the inertial latch into selective engagement with the securing pin wherein the seatback is maintained in a predetermined rotational position. A guide latch is biased against the inertial latch and having an idle notch and a deployed notch. The idle notch selectively maintains the inertial latch in the idle position. The deployed notch secures the inertial latch in the deployed position in response to the opposing directional biasing force.

Abstract: This disclosure is generally directed to using a building security system to provide assistance to a delivery robot. In one example implementation, a communication system provided in the delivery robot communicates with the building security system to obtain information pertaining to a terrain between the autonomous vehicle and a package drop-off spot at the building. The information may be provided in the form of an image captured by a camera located on the premises of the building. In one case, the delivery robot may identify a landmark in the image and use the landmark to navigate to the package drop-off spot. In another case, the delivery robot may use the image to generate a route map for traveling to the drop-off spot. In yet another case, the delivery robot may match and/or compare the image to a reference image or a topographical map to navigate to the package drop-off spot.

Abstract: CERMET fuel element includes a fuel meat of consolidated ceramic fuel particles (preferably refractory-metal coated HALEU fuel kernels) and an array of axially-oriented coolant flow channels. Formation and lateral positions of coolant flow channels in the fuel meat are controlled during manufacturing by spacer structures that include ceramic fuel particles. In one embodiment, a coating on a sacrificial rod (the rod being subsequently removed) forms the coolant channel and the spacer structures are affixed to the coating; in a second embodiment, a metal tube forms the coolant channel and the spacer structures are affixed to the metal tube. The spacer structures laterally position the coolant channels in spaced-apart relation and are consolidated with the ceramic fuel particles to form CERMET fuel meat of a fuel element, which are subsequently incorporated into fuel assemblies that are distributively arranged in a moderator block within a nuclear fission reactor, in particular for propulsion.

Abstract: The disclosure generally pertains to travel planning for a multifunction robot that can travel on a ground surface and can fly over obstacles. In an example embodiment, a controller of the multifunction robot receives an Occupancy Grid map that provides information about a travel area to be traversed by the multifunctional robot. The controller may determine a first cost associated with a first travel route that involves the multifunctional robot driving around a 3D object when moving along the ground from an origination spot to a destination spot in the travel area. The controller may further determine a second cost associated with a second travel route that involves the multifunctional robot flying over the 3D object when moving from the origination spot to the destination spot. The controller may select either the first travel route or the second travel route based on comparing the first cost to the second cost.

  • Publication number: 20220114988
Abstract: A User-centric Enhanced Pathway (UEP) system may provide vehicle pathway guidance while driving using an augmented reality display system in the event of sun glare. The system uses a route observer module programmed to predict sun glare, by obtaining real-time information about the interior and exterior vehicle environment, heading, speed, and other data. The route observer module may also use an inward-facing camera to determine when the driver is squinting, which may increase the probability function that predicts when the driver is experiencing sun glare. When sun glare is predicted, the route observer sends the weighted prediction function and input signals to a decision module that uses vehicle speed, location, and user activity to determine appropriate guidance output for an enhanced pathway using an Augmented Reality (AR) module. The AR module may adjust brightness, contrast, and color of the AR information based on observed solar glare.
