Patents Assigned to Ishikawa Gasket Co., Ltd.
  • Patent number: 4759585
Abstract: A steel laminate gasket for an internal combustion engine having at least one hole therein. The gasket comprises a first plate having at least one first hole and a first bead situated adjacent to the first hole to surround the same, and a second plate having at least one second hole and a second bead situated adjacent to the second hole to surround the same. The first and second holes correspond to the hole of the engine. The first and second beads include first and second top portions respectively. The distance from the second hole to the second top portion is different from the distance from the first hole to the first top portion. When the gasket is assembled, the first bead faces and abuts against the second bead so that the first and second top portions are located with a predetermined distance away from each other. Consequently, when the gasket is tightened, the first and second beads diagonally push with each other to provide secure sealing therebetween.

  • Patent number: 4759556
Abstract: A metal gasket of the invention comprises at least one metal plate including at least one fluid hole, a main bead extending around and adjacent to the fluid hole, and at least one auxiliary bead situated at an area away from a tightening device of the gasket. The auxiliary bead diverges from a part of the main bead, extends along the main bead and again merges to a part of the main bead. Therefore, an area adjacent the tightening device is sealed by the main bead, and the area away from the tightening device is sealed by the main bead and auxiliary bead to thereby provide equal sealability around the fluid hole when the gasket is tightened.

  • Patent number: 4754982
Abstract: A steel laminate gasket designed to efficiently seal engine parts having high and non-high pressure areas. The gasket comprises a core plate extending throughout entire area of the engine to be sealed, at least one metal plate situated above the core plate, and at least one soft sheet situated above the core plate. The metal plate is placed adjacent to the high pressure areas of the engine so that the high pressure areas of the engine are sealed by the core plate and the metal plate. The soft sheet is made of a soft gasket material and is placed adjacent to the non-high pressure area so that the non-high pressure areas of the engine are sealed by the core plate and the soft sheet.

  • Patent number: 4739999
Abstract: A steel laminate gasket for an internal combustion engine having a cylinder liner with a cylindrical portion and a flange. The gasket comprises an upper plate situated above the flange and the cylindrical portion, a lower plate having a lower opening, and a plurality of middle plates situated between the upper and lower plates. The diameter of the lower opening is larger than the inner diameter of the cylindrical portion of the cylinder liner and is smaller than the outer diameter of the cylindrical portion. The gasket is further provided with a main sealing device formed by at least one of the middle plates, and an auxiliary sealing device formed by at least one of the upper plate and middle plates. The auxiliary sealing device is weaker than the main sealing device and is situated adjacent to a curved portion of the lower plate between a main lower portion and a collar of the lower plate.

  • Patent number: 4728110
Abstract: A manifold gasket for an internal combustion engine to be situated between a manifold and a cylinder head comprises a first outer plate abutting against the manifold, a second outer plate abutting against the cylinder head, and at least two inner plates situated between the first and second outer plates. Each inner plate is provided with a bead to surround an exhaust hole for an exhaust fluid passage of the engine. The bead extends substantially perpendicularly to the horizontal plane of the inner plate and includes a top portion. The first and second outer plates and inner plates are arranged and connected together so that the first and second outer plates slide relative to the inner plates respectively and the beads of the two inner plates absorb pressure applied perpendicular to the inner plates and seal between the manifold and the cylinder head.

  • Patent number: 4648607
Abstract: A steel laminate gasket comprises a plurality of thin steel plates to be stacked one after another, and devices for identifying the position of the steel plates formed on the steel plates where no sealing ability is affected. When the steel plates are stacked in the proper order, the devices form a stepped portion with different height relative to a predetermined horizontal plane of the gasket. Consequently, a user can notice the proper order of assembly of the gasket.
