Patents Assigned to Ishikawa Gasket Co., Ltd.
  • Patent number: 4976445
Abstract: A steel laminate gasket of the invention is installed in an internal combustion engine. The gasket comprises a first plate and a second plate situated above the first plate. The first plate includes a base portion extending throughout the entire area of the gasket, a curved portion to define a first hole, and a flange situated above the base portion. A bead is formed on the flange to extend toward the base portion. When the gasket is tightened, the flange extends freely outwardly, so that the first bead can deform at a relatively low pressure. Also, the flange can slide easily relative to the cylinder head or cylinder block.

  • Patent number: 4971338
Abstract: A steel laminate gasket of the invention is situated for an internal combustion engine having at least one hole therein. The gasket comprises a first plate having at least one first hole corresponding to the hole of the engine and at least one first bead situated around the first hole, a second plate situated under the first plate, and a support device. The size of the support device is smaller than that of the first bead. The support device is situated beneath the first bead so that when the gasket is tightened, the support device abuts against and supports the first bead. As a result, the gasket can provide strong, even and wide sealing pressure.

  • Patent number: 4938488
Abstract: A steel laminate gasket of the invention is installed in an internal combustion engine having at least one hole therein. The gasket comprises a first plate having at least one first hole therein corresponding to the hole of the engine, and a second plate having at least one second hole. The first plate is provided with a base portion, at least one curved portion adjacent the first hole, and at least one flange situated parallel to the base portion. The base portion, curved portion and flange are integrally formed together. At least one side wall is formed on one of the base portion and the flange adjacent the curved portion to surround the first hole. The thickness between the flange and base portion inside the side wall is greater than the thickness between the flange and base portion outside the side wall so that an embossed portion is formed around the first hole. The second plate is situated adjacent the first plate so that the second plate does not pile the flange of the first plate.

  • Patent number: 4869515
Abstract: A metal plate of the invention is used for a metal gasket. The metal plate comprises a base plate, at least one first bead to surround an area to be sealed, and at least one second bead extending from the first bead. An intersecting portion is formed between the first and second beads. The intersecting portion is provided with a depression extending from a side of a non-high pressure area toward an inside of the intersecting portion to reduce the size of the intersecting portion. As a result, the intersecting portion of the first and second beads can provide surface pressure at least substantially equal to the rest of the portions of the first and second beads without affecting the sealing ability at a high pressure area when the beads are compressed.

  • Patent number: 4826708
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a steel plate for a steel laminate gasket comprises applying a first seal coating consecutively on at least one side of a base plate in the shape substantially the same as that of an actual steel plate for constituting the gasket. After the first seal coating on the base plate is dried, the base plate is pressed or cut to form a plurality of steel plates. Each steel plate has a configuration as in the actual steel plate, an outer surface formed by the first seal coating on the entire one side thereof and a plurality of holes therein. When a steel laminate gasket is formed, the steel plate with the seal coating thereon is stacked with other steel plates so that the seal coating is located between the two steel plates.
