  • Patent number: 4523792
Abstract: A dual-circuit hydraulic brake system with slip control, in particular for automotive vehicles, in which there are provided several sensors sensing the rotational behavior of the wheels and several solenoid valves (39, 37, 40, 38 41, 42, 30, 31) which are controllable by slip monitoring electronics (32). The wheel brakes (33, 34, 35, 36) connected to the brake circuits may be pressurized by a tandem master cylinder (3), on the one hand, and by an auxiliary pressure source, on the other hand. The auxiliary pressure source consists of an electric-motor-driven pressure medium pump (20) and of an accumulator (21). Each working chamber of the tandem master cylinder (3) hydraulically communicates with a brake valve (16) which may generate a dynamic pressure which, upon the actuation of the brake, will be supplied to wheel brakes (33, 34, 35, 36) by a switching-over action of inlet valves (30, 31).

  • Patent number: 4523222
Abstract: In this IC set, the dark currents and the white levels of the three electron guns, the leakage currents of the cathodes, and a light-detector current are measured during four successive vertical blanking intervals. The cathode leakage currents and the dark currents are measured in the first half of the vertical blanking interval, and the light-detector current and the white level currents are measured at the end of this interval. From these measured data and alignment data stored in a reprogrammable memory (ps), a microprocessor (mp) contained together with the memory (ps) in an integrated circuit (ic2) derives operating data for the picture tube (b) as well as further data.

  • Patent number: 4521061
Abstract: The hydraulic brake system with slip control comprises a master cylinder piston for operating a wheel brake, in which hydraulic medium tapped from the wheel brake during slip control will be supplied to the wheel brake from an auxiliary pressure source via a master cylinder gasket acting as check valve. The operating stroke of the master cylinder piston is limited by pressurization of a positioning piston through which a master cylinder piston rod is passed in a sealed manner and which is guided axially displaceable in a sealed manner in a housing. In order to prevent an abrupt movement of the positioning piston upon pressurization the positioning piston is constructed as a stepped piston whose smaller diameter is sealed with respect to the housing and having a piston step which in combination with the seal between the smaller diameter portion of the positioning piston and the housing annular chamber with a volume which is dependent on the pedal travel.

  • Patent number: 4520271
Abstract: In a so-called stop-start device for a motor vehicle engine particular consuming devices in the motor vehicle are changed over to a mode of operation with a lower current consumption, when the engine is switched off, or a switching-off of the engine is prevented, when functionally important consuming devices are switched on. Thus one achieves an appropriate compromise between saving of fuel and a satisfactory charge condition of the battery.

  • Patent number: 4518429
Abstract: A corrosion inhibiting material comprises a water soluble glass of the calcium oxide/phosphorus pentoxide type which, when in contact with water, releases phosphate ions which inhibit corrosion of adjacent metal surfaces. The glass solubility may be controlled by the incorporation of one or more glass modifying oxides. Advantageously the glass is finely ground and then dispersed in a resin carrier to form a primer paint formulation. The preferred glass forming region of a typical calcium oxide/phosphorus pentoxide system is illustrated in the ternary phase/composition diagram of FIG. 1 of the accompanying drawings.

  • Patent number: 4518872
Abstract: The circuit provides a signal (a) at the application of an interrogation pulse (as) if a change of state has occurred in a one-out-of-n system until the instant of interrogation. Each signal (1 . . . n) of the system is assigned an arrangement having storage capability and comprising two inverters (i1, i2) with feedback and two series-connected transistors (t2, t3) which are both conducting at the instant of interrogation and, thus, produce an unambiguous signal level at a common load resistor (l) only if a change of state has occurred in the system.

  • Patent number: 4518951
Abstract: This circuit, controlled by the counter (Z) and via the row transistors (ZTm) and upon actuation of a pushbutton key, successively interrogates the row lines (1m) and, via the column line (2n) as connected to the row line, forms an inverter with the corresponding resistor (SRn), so that an L level will appear at the input of the corresponding column inverter (SI1n). In the ROM-type matrix (M), with the aid of the matrix transistors (T . . . ) and the resistors (MRmn) it is accomplished that the m.multidot.n lines (Lmn) are only controlled in such a way that the corresponding line conducts an H level upon actuating only one single pushbutton key of the keyboard (TF). Accordingly, a l-ex-m-times-n code appears on the lines (Lmn) which, via the NOR gate (N) also effects the release of the counter (Z) counting the clock pulses of the clock pulse generator (TG).

  • Patent number: 4517529
Abstract: To be able to recover from modes in which the oscillation of the voltage-controlled oscillator (V0) stops, the phase/frequency control circuit includes an RS flip-flop (RS) connected via two AND gates (U3, U3) to the two outputs (A1, A2) of the phase discriminator (P), which provide pulses for raising and lowering, respectively, the frequency of the voltage-controlled oscillator (V0). When the frequency/phase control circuit is out of lock, a pulse is generated with two monostable multivibrators (M1, M2) which passes through a signal selection circuit (S1) associated with the Q output of the RS flip-flop or through a signal selection circuit (S2) associated with the Q output of this flip-flop and controls the constant-current source (Q1) charging the smoothing device (G) or the constant-current source (Q2) discharging this device in such a way that the unwanted mode can be stopped by changing the control voltage of the oscillator (V0).

  • Patent number: 4511019
Abstract: In a spot-type disc brake, the brake caliper which embraces the edge of a brake disc as well as brake shoes supported on both sides of the brake disc and which contains an actuating device is connected to the brake support member positively by a first guide pin received in a bore of the brake support member and slidably in the direction of the axis of rotation of the brake disc. The brake caliper is movable relative to the brake support member in a circumferential direction of the brake disc while, however, there is ensured at the same time a stable alignment of the brake caliper relative to the brake disc, in that a second guide pin which is supported in a bore provided in the brake caliper is arranged in parallel to the first guide pin. The two guide pins are rigidly connected to one another by a lever. At a point remote from the guide pins, the brake caliper is retained in abutment on a tangential sliding surface by springs.

  • Patent number: 4509250
Abstract: In the process according to the invention, in addition to the conventional two photoresist processes for opening the contact holes and for manufacturing the interconnecting pattern, two photoresist processes are used with one photoresist mask each for manufacturing the regions of the planar transistor. Without additional photoresist masks, further semiconductor components, such as integrated resistors and/or lateral transistors are capable of being manufactured. The process is characterized by the fact that, the first photoresist mask is used to manufacture a diffusion masking layer which leaves the base area of the planar transistor unmasked. In this area, the dopings of the collector region are introduced into the substrate and the collector region is diffused. Thereafter, at a relatively small dose rate, there is carried out an implantation of dopings of the base region.
