    Abstract: An anti-lock hydraulic brake system comprising a master cylinder and a wheel brake, with a flow control valve being inserted into the brake line. A non-return valve is inserted into the brake line. A direct connection is established between the wheel brake and the master cylinder, with a non-return valve opening towards the master cylinder. A pump supplies fluid into the brake line between the non-return valve and the flow control valve. A high-pressure accumulator is provided on the pressure side of the pump.

    Abstract: A system and method for sealing a windshield washer reservoir is illustrated comprising a one-piece molded cap and strap. The one-piece cap and strap comprises integrally molded and mating hinge members which facilitate hingeably mounting the cap onto the strap after they have been separated from each other. This facilitates providing a sealing system and method having some of the advantages of a one-piece molded construction, while at the same time permitting the user to experience the advantages of a two-piece hinge construction. In another embodiment, an integrally molded cam defining a cam surface and a mating engaging surface are provided which cooperate to not only separate the cap from the strap, but also to cause the pin associated with the cap to be guided into the socket such that when the cap is actuated from an open position to a closed position, the integrally molded cap and strap become separated and substantially simultaneously hingeably mounted together.

    Abstract: A brake pressure regulator comprising a hydraulically actuable slide valve integrated in a receiving bore within the valve accommodating body. The slide valve, in response to the switching position of the electromagnetic valves, controls the pressure fluid volume between a pressure fluid source and a pressure fluid consumer. The pressure regulator includes pressure fluid channels terminating on both front faces of the slide valve which are hydraulically connected through an inlet valve to the pressure fluid consumer. Preferably the slide valve includes a circular groove provided with a control edge and interconnecting the pressure fluid source and the inlet valve through a feed-in channel. The invention employs the principle of preventing leakage flows from occurring by suitably arranging pressure fluid channels and sealing elements and by pointedly guiding the pressure fluid flow.

The inner end of the slot has a voltage-discriminating first side, and has a switch (82, FIG. 5) with an actuator (80) lying at a location that is occupied by a discrimination key portion (69) that is present in a low voltage card but not a high voltage card. The electronic device has both lower and higher voltage circuits (124, 130) for energizing lower and higher voltage cards, and the type of card sensed by the switch determines which circuit is connected to contacts at the inner end of the slot.

    Abstract: A first connector (12, FIG. 2) is constructed so when it is unmated from a second connector (14), front contact devices (32) of the first connector are switched from connections to conductors (16) leading to circuit component (70) to connection to a ground plane (110). The first connector comprises a front insert assembly (22) that includes a plurality of front contact devices (32), and a rear insert assembly (50) that includes a plurality of rear contacts (62). When the second connector fully mates with the first one (FIG. 3), the second connector pushes the front insert assembly to a rearward position (22B), against the force of a spring (40), to cause the front contact devices to mate with the rear contacts. When the second connector unmates from the first one, the spring moves the front insert assembly to the forward position. During forward movement, the front contact devices engage the ground plane (110), to thereby ground the front contact devices when they are not mated to the rear contacts.

    Abstract: A clip member is configured for selective engagement with a receiving member having an aperture and a predetermined material thickness between a front surface and a back surface. The clip member includes a base surface and pair of substantially parallel tangs projecting outwardly from the base surface with each tang having an engaging barb. A pair of cantilevered spring tabs are adjacent the tangs and extend from the base surface substantially parallel thereto. The spring tabs have a tab engaging surface projecting above the base surface defining a distance to a barb engagement surface less than the thickness of the receiving member. When the clip member is pressed into the aperture, the tangs are bent as they enter through the front surface. The tab engaging surfaces engage the front surface of the receiving member before the barb engagement surfaces reach the rear surface. The spring tabs deflect with further movement of the clip member into the receiving member and develop a spring load therebetween.

The wiping system comprises frictional material or a wiper material which is applied directly to either a wiper blade or a windshield in at least one reversal area on the windshield where the wiping blade is driven from a first direction to a second direction which is generally opposite that of the first direction. The wiper material is coated or integrally formed as part of the windshield in the reversal areas to facilitate increasing the friction between an edge of the wiper blade and a surface of the windshield which, in turn, facilitates causing the blade to flip from a first wipe side to a second wipe side, thereby reducing or eliminating "chisel chatter" problems of the past.

    Abstract: A vibration damping element for attaching a windshield wipers drive unit to an automobile. The element incorporates the assembly screws, in preassembled condition, and retains them in the assembly position on the respective vibration damping element by a detachment prevention portion. To a achieve reliable detachment prevention and to reduce the effort in preassembling the assembly screws, the opening of the vibration damping element is closed by an elastomeric diaphragm attached to the vibration damping element for producing the detachment prevention. The diaphragm has a central hole with a smaller inside diameter than the thread diameter of the assembly screw. Thus, the assembly screw is held captive on the vibration damping element by the edge of the central hole being clamped elastically on the threaded screw stem.
