Patent number: 5094674Abstract: A device for separation of air from fiber suspensions of flotation devices which are heavily air- and foam-laden or represent a mixture of fluid and foam features a hydrocyclone whose inlet opening is arranged least 2.5 m below the outlet opening of the flotation device for the air-laden fluid or mixture. The separation section of the hydrocyclone is a slender, truncated cone-shaped body on whose pointed (thin) end the deaerated fluid is withdrawn. In this outlet opening there is a back pressure maintained, so that the inlet opening is not completely covered by the vortex of the fluid, leaving still a sufficiently free entrance cross section for the foam. Above the entrance section of the hydrocyclone a mechanical foam eliminator with a rotor is arranged, the rotor comprising an impeller wheel which is provided with radial blades. A funnel-shaped suction socket feeds the foam-air mixture to the impeller wheel.Type: GrantFiled: March 19, 1991Date of Patent: March 10, 1992Assignee: J. M. Patent number: 5088964Abstract: An elastic coupling, particularly for a multi-mass flywheel in the drive train of a motor vehicle drive. The elastic coupling has three masses which are connected to each other in each case by spring elements, a damping device being connected in parallel with each spring element. The damping device between the first and the second masses includes radially extending projections on the second mass which exert either a circumferential force on the first springs or a damping force in an adjacent fluid displacement chamber. The side walls of the fluid displacement chambers simultaneously serve as retaining shoulders for the springs in the adjacent spring chambers whereby the projections can carry out the above-mentioned dual functions. A great advantage of this arrangement is a particularly advantageous space-spacing arrangement of the damping device in the radially outer region of the elastic coupling.Type: GrantFiled: December 15, 1989Date of Patent: February 18, 1992Assignee: J. Patent number: 5085168Abstract: In a coating device, a doctor blade is bent S-shaped for application of its contact force by means of a pressure bar. An additional force of a profile correction device is exerted for profile correction by means of magnets. This additional force acts preferably opposite to the main contact force. This prevents the profile correction device from causing a change of the geometry of the doctor blade in the contact area of the spreading edge of the doctor blade.Type: GrantFiled: June 14, 1990Date of Patent: February 4, 1992Assignee: J. Patent number: 5083987Abstract: With a differential gearing having a spur gear construction, the compensating gears (31a, 31b) are installed in meshing pairs and are tightly enclosed by a housing (14) so that with meshing spur gears (22, 23) they can act as toothed pumps with pressure zones, with a locking moment being produced between the two driven shafts (2,3). A substantial increase in the locking moment is achieved in that the compensating gears constructed as pinions are disposed in a determined sequence on the circumference of the spur gears and also comprise along their face width partitions (32) which prevent a reduction in pressure along the toothing. As a result with an equal number of pinion pairs there is produced a number of pressure zones which is more than double and consequently there is an increase in the locking moment developed.Type: GrantFiled: September 17, 1990Date of Patent: January 28, 1992Assignee: J. Patent number: 5081907Abstract: A hydrostatic displacement engine having pistons which slide on the inside of a stroke ring. The eccentricity of the stroke ring, relative to the cylinder block, is variable. The interior of the housing is divided in two areas which are separated from each other preferably by a seal, namely in the area located radially outside the stroke ring and the area located radially within the stroke ring. The inner and outer areas serve as a leakage oil collection space and connects through a leakage oil line with a pressureless liquid container. Emptying in the area situated radially outside the stroke ring is a connection line which is supplied by a pressure supply. A pressure valve maintains the pressure in the outer area at a value of several bars.Type: GrantFiled: July 3, 1990Date of Patent: January 21, 1992Assignee: J. M. Patent number: 5078081Abstract: On a coating device, at the mouth originating from the chamber for the coating substance, there is provided, between said mouth and the backing roll or web, a cover body which on its surface near the mouth forms an outlet channel that extends away from the space through which at the doctor blade flows the coating substance. This outlet channel has a throttle effect. Additionally, the cover body forms relative to the doctor blade a second throttle channel which is located relatively close to the smoothing edge of the doctor blade. At the outlet of the second throttle channel, the cover body preferably extends into a point which is arranged relatively close to the backing roll or web. The outlet channel can suitably be formed between a base body and the cover body, with the base body ending at a distance from the doctor blade that is maximally 10 mm greater than the clearance of the second throttle channel.Type: GrantFiled: June 19, 1990Date of Patent: January 7, 1992Assignee: J. Patent number: 5072818Abstract: The invention concerns an elastic clutch including a hydraulic damping device wherein a viscous damping medium is displaced through predetermined gaps upon occurrence of large angles of rotation. To that end, a cam arranged on one clutch half plunges into a capsule type displacement chamber. The cam features friction elements which in the plunging make elastic and sealing contact with the sidewalls of the capsule, thereby causing both an effective sealing of the displacement chamber and also a frictional damping which supports the hydraulic damping. The disk type second clutch half can, during operation, more freely adjust within the clutch, which simplifies the manufacture.Type: GrantFiled: March 12, 1990Date of Patent: December 17, 1991Assignee: J. Patent number: 5068980Abstract: A paper web travels together with a support belt over two heatable drying cylinders and a guide roll between the cylinders, which together define a pocket. Vacuum prevails in the pocket upon operation. Above the pocket there is provided a sealing strip support with sealing strips fastened to it. The sealing strips are at the drying cylinders where they enter the pocket, and these strips counter the penetration of air into the pocket. The sealing strip support is moveable in various ways so that the distance between the sealing strips and the cylinder outer surfaces can be enlarged temporarily. The guide roll is hollow, is connectable with a vacuum source and has a perforated roll shell and is free of stationary inserted parts. A separate vacuum source communicates with extra perforations at axial end edge chambers of the guide roll for applying greater vacuum at the edge chambers than over the remainder of the roll.Type: GrantFiled: June 6, 1990Date of Patent: December 3, 1991Assignee: J. Patent number: 5062964Abstract: In a flotation system, the generated quantity of foam is determined and, independent thereof, process parameters which directly or indirectly affect the generated foam quantity are reduced in their quantity depending on foam quantity. This is brought about by reduction of specific substance flows and also such substance flows that circulate in a flotation system. Production waters used for dilution are partly replaced by fresh water. This precludes an excessive amount of generated foam from causing difficulties in the operation of a flotation system.Type: GrantFiled: April 6, 1990Date of Patent: November 5, 1991Assignee: J. M. Patent number: 5052978Abstract: An elastic coupling in disk construction consists of a coupling half (2) forming a tight inner space (11) which can be filled with damping medium, and a further coupling half (1) comprising an intermediate disk (6) and a hub (3). In addition, there is provided a further coupling element (12) which is connected to both coupling halves (1, 2) by tangentially arranged springs (24, 25, 26) spaced around the circumference. The arrangement is such that, at first, weak first springs (24) for low torque come into play, which first springs are followed by stronger second springs (25) up to the rated torque of the effective range. For still higher torques, the effective range of strong third springs (26) follows. At the circumference of the intermediate disk (6) and of the further coupling element (12) there are radial surfaces (13, 14), which, with corresponding surfaces (15) at the circumference of the interior space, form displacement chambers (16) and bring about a stepwise damping in dependence on the twist angle.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 1988Date of Patent: October 1, 1991Assignee: J.
