Abstract: A seal useful in sealing slide out rooms used in recreational vehicles. The seal may be used singularly or in pairs to straddle a wall through which the opening is located. A bulb is attached to the base in a cantilevered manner over the base. The bulb has an outer arcuate portion that is integrally joined to opposing sidewall portions. The sidewall portions extend into an inner wall that defines an enclosed space within the bulb portion. The bulb portion may also have a protrusion that can touch the base. A wiper extends from the base substantially co-linearly to the base and opposite the offsetting member. A locating leg extending from the base is movable between a first position and a second position. The first position has the locating leg perpendicular to the base and the second position places the locating leg parallel to the base.

Abstract: A socket for an electrical plug and socket connection is described, comprising a socket housing with a plug-in opening for mounting a plug. The plug-in opening includes a contact support component for mating with a plug which provides contacts extending into the plug-in opening. The contacts are preferably flat contacts with an elastically bent contact surface. Also preferably, the contacts are cast in an injection molding process into the contact support insert. The contact support insert is then incorporated into the plug-in opening of the socket housing, and a seal is provided between the two components.

Abstract: A quick-releasing linear actuator suitable for electric hospital beds includes a motor, a transmission device, a clutch device and a pulling arm device. With the pulling of the pulling arm of the pulling arm device, a clutch and a clutch base of the clutch device can be disengaged, such that the screw of the transmission device will not be impeded by the worm gear. When a force is exerted to the telescopic rod of the transmission device, the screw can rotate by itself to rapidly lower the telescopic rod, thereby to achieve the rapid releasing of the hospital beds.

Abstract: A socket for an electrical plug-and-socket connection is described, comprising a housing, a plug-in opening for mounting a plug, and a contact support insert configured in the housing. The contact support insert comprises contacts extending into the plug-in opening, configured as flat contacts with elastically bent contact surfaces. Preferably, to provide a reliably sealed socket, a first part of the socket housing is formed together with the contact support insert as a single component in a first injection molding step, and the contacts are then fastened into the contact support insert. In a second injection molding step, a second part of the socket housing is then cast onto the first part of the socket housing.

Elongated aeration elements are connected to a distribution conduit and have an essentially rigid support tube having a lengthwise rounded groove about which is disposed a membrane of elastomeric material. Compressed gas introduced between the support tube and membrane escapes via slits in the membrane. An elastically deformable flange of a cylindrical portion of a fitting with a plastic semi-rigid saddle portion is disposed between the distribution conduit and one of the aeration elements, and is disposed in a bore in the conduit. The fitting has an essentially flat saddle portion, one side of which rests against the outer surface of the conduit, and the other side of which rests against an end of the aeration element. A hollow bolt is securely connected to the aeration element and is guided through a bore in the fitting into the interior of the conduit, where it is provided with apertures.

Abstract: A split ring seal having a structured split formed with first and second overlapping leaves, movable between a compressed state and an expanded state, and having a first bore through the first leaf and a second bore through the second leaf such that, in the compressed state, the first and second bores are mutually aligned. A method of installing one or more packing trays in a process tower comprising providing such a split ring seal carried by one or more packing trays, locking each split ring seal in its compressed state with a pin through the overlapping leaf bores, placing the packing trays in the process tower and removing the pin to allow the split ring seals to expand and seal to the process tower.

Abstract: The invention relates to a plug-and-socket connection device for the automatic, e.g. multipolar electrical connection of a vehicle trailer, particularly of a semitrailer, to a towing vehicle, particularly to a prime mover. The plug-and-socket connection device comprises a socket and a plug, which can be mounted on the vehicle trailer (e.g. the plug) or on the towing vehicle (e.g. the socket, they can be aligned with one another when coupling the vehicle trailer to the towing vehicle, and can be displaced while being guided by a drive provided in the form of an, e.g. piston/cylinder assembly relative to one another between an (advanced) connecting position and a (retracted) inoperative position.

Abstract: A capacitive sensor to detect a finger for an operation of a control and/or command comprises an electrically insulating layer forming a detection surface fitted with position marks for application of a finger, and generation of a signal by positioning or movement of the finger. A capacitive layer is covered by an insulating layer and formed by a stack of alternating conductive sections and non-conductive sections placed on edge. At least some conductive layers are linked to elementary contacts to form parts of capacitors distributed in cells. The capacitance of all capacitors of a cell is added together in the signal supplied by the cell. A processing circuit linked to the cell connectors of the capacitive cells receives the capacitive signals to evaluate and compare them, and to establish whether they correspond to the presence of a finger, and to determine the nature of the finger.

Abstract: An apparatus for aerating water or other liquid is provided, and includes a flexible hose of rubber or other elastomeric material for disposal in the water or other liquid. The wall of the hose has a perforation, fine slits, openings or the like via which gas can escape into the liquid. A tubular connector is introduced into one end of the hose via which air can be supplied to the hose. That end of the tubular connector facing the interior of the hose has a flattened configuration and extends in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the hose. The wall of the tubular connector is provided with apertures for the passage of air.

Abstract: A plug-in connection device for the self-actuating electrical connection of a motor vehicle trailer to a towing motor vehicle with a socket (D) and a plug (S), which can be disposed on the motor vehicle trailer (for example the plug S) or the towing motor vehicle (for example socket D) During the coupling of the motor vehicle trailer to the towing motor vehicle, socket (D) and plug (S) can be aligned with respect to one another and can be moved by means of a drive (10), developed for example as a piston-cylinder configuration, relative to one another between an advanced connection position and a retracted resting position. Preferably a cover (5) of the socket (D) can be opened by displacing the contact insert (1), bearing contact sleeves (11, 12), in the direction of the connection position with the aid of drive (10). When the contact insert (1) is retracted into the resting position, the cover can be closed again.

Abstract: Device for grinding an external sleeve surface on a rotationally symmetrical body comprises a support frame displaceable along the external sleeve surface of the body and to which a driven belt grinder is fixed, and pivoted running rollers spaced in the circumferential direction of the body and resting on the external sleeve surface of the body, whereby a rapid and positionally exact grinding of the body is achieved.

Abstract: A fluorescent-lamp socket has a hollow dielectric housing, and a pair of identical conductive contact elements in the housing, each contact element is unitarily formed with an outer lamp-contacting end adapted to engage a respective pin of the lamp, an inner wiring end formed as a wire-engaging clip, a center part extending between the respective inner and outer ends, and an elastic tongue unitarily formed with the respective center part and projecting transversely toward the other contact element. Alternately it can be constructed such that either the tongues bear on each other and electrically interconnect the contact elements or each tongue bears on the center part of the other contact element to electrically interconnect the contact elements.
