Patents Assigned to Jaguar Land Rover Limited
  • Patent number: 11745708
Abstract: A controller for a vehicle, a system, a vehicle, a method, a computer program and a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium are disclosed. The controller is configured to receive an indication of a measured speed of the vehicle, and determine whether a gradient on which the vehicle is located is below a threshold gradient. The controller is also configured to provide an output signal to cause a brake of the vehicle to be automatically applied to hold the vehicle stationary, in dependence on: the received indication of the measured speed of the vehicle being below a threshold speed; and the determination that the gradient is below the threshold gradient.

  • Patent number: 11741759
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a controller for indicating a residual driving range available in a battery of an electric vehicle. The controller is operable in a first mode wherein it instructs the output means to display an output indicative of the total amount of energy remaining in the battery and a second mode wherein it instructs the output means to display an output indicative of an amount of energy that may be used without causing the total amount of energy stored in the battery to reduce below an amount required to undertake a predetermined journey. The controller is operable to switch from the first mode to the second mode upon receipt of a user input via said second input means. Advantageously, the second mode may display an amount of energy that can be used in a leisure driving session.

  • Patent number: 11739710
Abstract: Aspects of the present invention relate to a controller (104) and method (400) for controlling operation of an internal combustion engine (101). The controller (104) is configured to: receive a first request signal indicative of a request to stop fuel being supplied to the engine (101), and cause an intake valve (301) of a cylinder (103) of the internal combustion engine (101) to remain closed during the current revolution of the internal combustion engine (101) and revolutions of the internal combustion engine (101) immediately following the current revolution of the internal combustion engine (101) in dependence on at least one of: the intake valve (301) being closed at the time of receiving the first request signal; or a next opening of the intake valve having not been scheduled.

  • Patent number: 11738616
Abstract: The invention resides in a system and method for determining the manner in which a vehicle is driven. The system comprises a processor comprising an input configured to receive dynamic ride data from at least one on-board vehicle dynamic ride sensor, wherein the processor is configured (i) to calculate an output signal which is indicative of whether the dynamic ride data exceeds at least one dynamic ride data threshold value for a predetermined period of time; and (ii) to compare the output signal with at least one output threshold to determine the manner in which the vehicle is driven. The processor comprises an output configured to send a control signal to one or more vehicle components, wherein the control signal is indicative of the manner in which the vehicle is driven.

  • Patent number: 11738617
Abstract: An electronic controller (10) for a motor vehicle (100), the controller being configured to determine when at least one wheel (111, 112, 114, 115) has lost traction, wherein when the controller (10) determines that at least one wheel (111, 112, 114, 115) has lost traction the controller (10) is configured to provide an output to a driver indicative of the at least one wheel (111, 112, 114, 115) that has lost traction.
