Abstract: A vehicle steering system includes an input configured to receive a signal representing a target steering angle, an output configured to provide a torque output command to a steering motor based on the target steering angle, and a torque limiter module configured to receive the torque output command and apply a torque limit thereto, prior to the torque output command being provided to the steering motor. The torque limit is configurable dynamically based on at least one vehicle parameter.
Abstract: A motor vehicle having a vehicle body, an engine compartment (10) housing an engine (12) and a bonnet seal arrangement (30, 34). The bonnet seal arrangement defines an opening (35) and is configured to deflect ram air received at the front of the motor vehicle (2) in use past the opening (35) to define a first air flow path, and draw air from the first air flow path through the opening (35) to define a second air flow path for supplying air to the intake duct orifice (42), the second air flow path being angled in a horizontal plane to the first air flow path.

Abstract: Aspects of the present invention relate to a control module (15) for a vehicle powertrain. The powertrain comprises a transmission (14), an engine (12) and an electric machine (16). The control module (15) is configured to receive an input indicative of a requested upshift and in response to the received signal the control module (15) increases the torque output of the engine (12) prior to the start of the torque phase (20). As the torque output of the engine (12) increases the control module (15) decreases the torque output of the electric machine (16) such that a constant wheel torque is applied to the wheels (18) during the torque phase (20) of the upshift.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a controller for a starter motor operable to receive a first input indicative of an engine shutdown being required, a second input indicative of a change-of-mind event having occurred after initiation of engine shutdown and a third input indicative of the engine position. After receipt of the first input the controller is operable to monitor the third input and to determine an expected engine rotation direction indicative of the expected rotation direction of the engine after a predetermined delay. If the expected engine rotation direction is positive and the second input is received then the controller is configured to control the output means to cause the starter motor of the engine to be actuated upon receipt of the second input.
