Abstract: Aspects of the present invention relate to an apparatus comprising at least two chambers, each chamber comprising at least one wall defining the chamber, a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet through the wall of the chamber and an opening separate from the fluid inlet and fluid outlet. The fluid inlet and fluid outlet are configured such that a fluid enters the chamber via the fluid inlet and exits via the fluid outlet. A gas enters the chamber via the fluid inlet and exits the chamber via the opening, wherein the opening of each of the chambers is fluidly connected to a common fluid reservoir. The apparatus may be used for degassing multiple coolant circuits in a vehicle.
Abstract: A method of controlling a primary vehicle (18) comprising an automated driving system (20) for driving the primary vehicle autonomously when the primary vehicle is in an autonomous mode, the primary vehicle also being operable manually by a driver when in a manual mode, the method comprising: determining failure of the driver to accept a request to switch the primary vehicle to the manual mode when the vehicle is in the autonomous mode; determining a primary vehicle driving state; acquiring vehicle data for one or more surrounding secondary vehicles (22); determining a contingency action to take with the primary vehicle based on the primary vehicle driving state and the vehicle data for the or each secondary vehicle; and outputting the contingency action to at least one system of the primary vehicle to drive the primary vehicle autonomously in accordance with the determined contingency action.
Abstract: An imaging system includes an image realisation device, and projection optics for rendering a display image on a display screen. The image realisation device includes an image realisation surface and a light structuring device having a surface with a first and second region. The light structuring device simulates a first lens on the first region of the surface. A first source image formed on a first region of the image realisation surface and projected through the projection optics renders a first display image on the display screen at a first apparent depth. The light structuring device simulates a second lens on the second region of the surface. A second source image formed on a second region of the image realisation surface and projected through the projection optics renders a second display image on the display screen at a second apparent depth. The first and second lens are independently configurable.

Abstract: A control system for controlling operation of an internal combustion engine is configured to: receive a first request signal indicative of first torque demand; determine a schedule defining an opening timing of the intake valve and a closing timing of the intake valve of a cylinder of the internal combustion engine in dependence on the first torque demand; and cause the intake valve to open in accordance with the schedule. The control system is also configured to, during a period in which the intake valve is open: receive a second torque request signal indicative of a second torque demand different to the first torque demand; determine an updated schedule defining an updated closing timing of the intake valve in dependence on the second torque demand; and cause the intake valve to close in accordance with the updated schedule.
