    Abstract: Totally six polarization-maintaining optical fibers having the same beat length are arranged at both ends of a single-mode optical fiber and both ends of a single-mode optical fiber coil, respectively. An angle between a principal axis of polarization in a first polarization-maintaining optical fiber and a plane of polarization of linearly polarized light from a light source is 45 degrees. The optical length of each of the six polarization-maintaining optical fibers is larger than a coherent length of the linearly polarized light from the light source. The total of the optical lengths of the six polarization-maintaining optical fibers into which polarization rotation in the process of passing through the single-mode optical fibers is factored is larger than the coherent length of the linearly polarized light from the light source.

    Abstract: A connector includes: a contact in which an annular groove is formed on a middle portion; a sleeve that includes a cylindrical portion that allows the contact to be inserted therethrough, tongue pieces that are extended from the cylindrical portion, and are arranged in a circumferential direction of the cylindrical portion, and a claw portion that is protruded inward in a radial direction on each front end of the tongue pieces; a housing in which a step surface facing rearward is formed on an inner wall facing an accommodation space; and a holder that has a C-shaped cross section. The sleeve is attached to the contact in a manner such that the claw portion is fitted into the annular groove. The contact and the sleeve are accommodated in the accommodation space with the tongue pieces abutted on the step surface and are retained in the accommodation space by the holder.

    Abstract: A workpiece processing apparatus comprises a base member formed with a hydraulic chamber fillable with liquid, a punch and a piston. The hydraulic chamber has a workpiece processing chamber and a hydraulic-pressure generation chamber. The punch is movable between an initial position which is apart from the workpiece processing chamber and a received position at which the punch is partially received in the workpiece processing chamber. When the punch is moved from the initial position to the received position, the punch presses the workpiece into the workpiece processing chamber. The piston is partially received in the hydraulic-pressure generation chamber and receives a pressing force directed into the hydraulic-pressure generation chamber in a course of movement of the punch from the initial position to the received position, and the piston is moved in accordance with the pressing force and increases hydraulic pressure of the liquid.

    Abstract: A workpiece processing apparatus comprises a base member, a slider located above the base member and a punch projecting downward from the slider. The hydraulic chamber has a workpiece processing chamber and a hydraulic-pressure generation chamber which are coupled together. Each of the workpiece processing chamber and the hydraulic-pressure generation chamber extends in the upper-lower direction and opens upward. The base member comprises a piston which is partially received in the hydraulic-pressure generation chamber. When the slider is moved downward, the punch is moved downward and presses the workpiece into the workpiece processing chamber, and the piston receives a downward force and is moved downward. The thus-moved piston increases hydraulic pressure of the liquid.
