    Abstract: An electrostatic image developing toner comprises a binder resin which contains at least 60% by weight of a styrene-butadiene copolymer. The copolymer contains a component A having a molecular weight of at least 100,000 in an amount of at least 20% by weight relative to the binder resin, and a component B having a molecular weight of at least 500,000 in the component A is not more than 15% by weight relative to the binder resin. The toner has adequate flowability and noncoagulation property and is capable of forming a superior visible image in a contact heat fixing system.

    Abstract: A process for producing a thermoplastic resin by polymerizing a monomer mixture consisting of an unsaturated nitrile monomer and an alkenyl aromatic hydrocarbon monomer in the presence of a rubbery polymer latex, characterized in that(a) at first, a monomer mixture having an unsaturated nitrile monomer content of 0 to 20 weight % is polymerized in an amount of 30 to 70 weight % based on the amount of the whole monomer mixture,(b) subsequently, the residual monomer mixture having an unsaturated nitrile monomer content of 35 to 90 weight % is polymerized, and the unsaturated nitrile monomer content in the polymer part formed by polymerization in said (a) and (b) steps is 28 to 38 weight %. The thermoplastic resin obtained according to this process has a high chemical resistance, an excellent impact resistance and an excellent processability.

Shaped articles obtained by this process have an advantage that when the surfaces thereof are stained the removal of the stains is quite easy.     Abstract: A butadiene-base polymer containing a branched polymer through tin-carbon bond and a process for producing the same are disclosed. The butadiene-base polymer is produced by polymerizing 1,3-butadiene alone or 1,3-butadiene and aromatic vinyl compound in a hydrocarbon solvent in the presence of a Lewis base using an organolithium compound as an initiator and then coupling with a tin halide, and satisfies the following requirements:(1) a content of a bound aromatic vinyl compound in the butadiene-base polymer is 0-40% by weight;(2) a ratio of vinyl bond-containing butadiene unit in the toal butadiene unit of the butadiene-base polymer is 30-90%;(3) a ratio of the branched polymer in the butadiene-base polymer is at least 30% by weight; and(4) a ratio of a component having a molecular weight of less than 100,000 as polystyrene in the molecular weight distribution as measured by a gel permeation chromatography is 10-20% by weight.
